Eddie Brown was an arena football player who was consistently the best wide receiver in the league, he would eventually go on to be a father as well. With his position came responsibilities such as catching the ball thrown by the quarterback, running his routes, and scoring points. This description is not exclusive when describing Eddie, it actually could be used for his son, Antonio Brown, who is even more successful now than his father ever was or will be. Antonio and his father had much in common, the most important difference is that Eddie played in the Arena League, and Antonio Brown played in the National Football League. Truthfully Antonio Brown is a one of a kind person, and a unique athlete which will only come into our lives every decade or less.
The long road to success start similarly to his father 's; playing at the collegiate level at a D1 school. First I will take you back to long before he had aspirations to be on an NFL team. When Antonio was a young man in high school, he was not the cool kid in school, or the most popular, or even the most talented. His fellow classmates referred to him as “Bony Tony”, this was because if his stature and weight. He was not a highly recruited player and was an underdog to actually make the team. When it came to his freshman year of college he had actually earned a spot on the Central Michigan Chippewas. This was news seemed great at the time but he really would not see the playing field much until his sophomore year. This is when his current life really began to take shape. He was the star special teams player, a decent wide receiver, and he had earned two player of the year trophies in his college career. This is when he decided to make the jump to the pro leagues.
He is not...
... middle of paper ...
... how busy he may be to try to positively effect the young mans life.
When you really lay out all of his attributes both on and off the field you really start to see the bigger picture. Not only is this guy one of the best in the NFL now but he could be one of the best wide receivers in the history of the league. He will not be remembered solely as an amazing talent however, he will also be remembered for his of the field activities. Such as helping out the paralyzed kid in need of a friend in tough times, or helping kids in need of a role model. For everything that he has shown me to this point, even after he is old and done with football he will be a great man to others in his society in the future. His story goes to show all people adults, and kids alike that if you keep a good head on your shoulders, and never quit you can achieve your biggest and wildest dreams.
Eddie Mabo was a recognised Indigenous Australian who fought for his land, Murray Island. Mabo spent a decade seeking official recognition of his people’s ownership of Murray Island (Kwirk, 2012). He became more of an activist, he campaigned for better access for indigenous peoples to legal and medical services, to house, to social services and to education. The Mabo case was a milestone court case which paved the way for fair land rights for indigenous people. The Merriam people wanted to ensure its protection. Eddie Mabo significantly contributed to the civil and land rights of Indigenous people in Australia due to his argument to protect his land rights. In a speech in 1976, at a conference on the redrawing of the Torres Strait border, Mabo articulated a vision for islander self-determination and for an independent Torres Strait Island (Stephson, 2009).
Young Goodman Brown undergoes the hero’s journey in the story written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. The hero’s journey is a common guideline of events that many writers use in stories to show the physical, mental, and/or emotional transformation the main character or protagonist undergoes throughout the story. It starts with a call to adventure and a supernatural aid. It is then followed by a road of trials and a symbolic death. In the end, the character has a moment of epiphany or realization and then a return. Hawthorne uses all of these in order to show the loss of innocence in Young Goodman Brown as he experiences the hero’s journey.

John Brown was an American abolitionist, born in Connecticut and raised in Ohio. He felt passionately and violently that he must personally fight to end slavery. This greatly increased tension between North and South. Northern mourned him as a martyr and southern believed he got what he deserved and they were appalled by the north's support of Brown. In 1856, in retaliation for the sack of Lawrence, he led the murder of five proslavery men on the banks of the Pottawatomie River. He stated that he was an instrument in the hand of God. On October 16, 1859, he led 21 men on a raid of the federal arsenal at Harpers Ferry, Virginia. His plan to arm slaves with the weapons he and his men seized from the arsenal was thwarted, however, by local farmers, militiamen, and Marines led by Robert E. Lee. Within 36 hours of the attack, most of Brown's men had been killed or captured. Brown was hanged on Dec. 2, 1859. He became a martyr for many because of the dignity and sincerity that he displayed during his popular trial. Before he was hanged he gave a speech which was his final address to the court that convicted him. And he was thankful to Bob Butler for letting him send that text in electronic form. "This court acknowledges, too, as I suppose, the validity of the law of God. I see a book kissed, which I suppose to be the Bible, or at least the New Testament, which teaches me that all things whatsoever I would that men should do to me, I should do even so to them. It teaches me, further, to remember them that are in bonds as bound with them. I endeavored to act up to the instruction. I say I am yet too young to understand that God is any respecter of persons. I believe that to have interfered as I have done, as I have always freely admitted I have done, in behalf of his despised poor, I did not wrong but right. Now, if it is deemed necessary that I should forfeit my life for the furtherance of the ends of justice, and mingles my blood further with the blood of my children and with the blood of millions in this slave country whose rights are disregarded by wicked, cruel, and unjust enactments, I say let it be done."
