Learning Style Analysis
Throughout my academic career, I have noticed the different aspects of my learning style and how it has impacted my academic success. It has become harder and harder to use only one learning style while going into college. When the professors having a certain style of teaching, it gives the students little wiggle room to use only one way to learn. With this in mind, I had to adapt to different types of learning styles that best fits the professors I have as well as myself.
My academic success was mainly based off of how well I retained information. Some classes were better than others, and I always wondered why. I figured out later on that it was how I was being taught and how well I was adapting to it. I never truly understood which learning environment was better for me until this activity. In this activity, there were three tests given with numerous questions about different habits I have during studying and class time. After taking all of them, I could finally put a name to my style of learning. Although having characteristics in almost all styles, I was mainly a tactile-kinesthetic learner and an analytical thinker. Unfortunately, not all professors teach the same, forcing the students to adapt to many different forms of learning. Of course everyone cannot be pleased, so the professor has to choose what they think is best. Ideally for me, a classroom that is oriented around a more tactile way of learning would benefit me the most. A professor that tends to use visuals, activities, and examples is what I would need to learn at my best ability. A classroom where the professor engages in the students and making sure they are hands-on is usually where I thrive. I pay attention more and inventively listen to what the professor is saying thus making me be a better student in those particular
