For younger individuals’ language learning seems easier. Language learning is an ability that could take someone months, maybe even years to learn. Learning to communicate in an additional language involves developing an awareness of the ways in which culture interrelates with language whenever it is used. When learning a language, learners engage with the ways the cultural context affects the way language is used to communicate and how they are used. The difference of culture can influence the ways different meanings are understood. Nisbett conducted a research to show how different languages are used by different cultures. This research discovered that American parents are using more object labels with their children and relate objects to various cultural contexts. This results in a context independent manner of language use. Japanese parents would engage more frequently in social routines to teach politeness norms. When learning a language, cultural orientations are displayed over a period of time in uniform ways of linguistically representing culture evolve into linguistic practices and ultimately becoming a part of the language (Hager, 2001, p. 35-36).
