GM-503- Leadership Theory and Practice II
Transformational leaders are leaders who use practical approaches to lead their organization to the next level. In this week?s unit, transformational, authentic leadership and fostering collaboration were debated. Transformational leadership is about influencing others to achieve organizational goals. Authentic leadership is about an interpersonal perspective in which a leader invest in his followers for advancement. Fostering collaboration is about the ability to work as team. In addition, Mr. Anthony is a real life example of transformational and an authentic leadership. Mr. Anthony and I set down to discussed his leadership experience.
Transformational leadership is defined as ?people who tap the motives of followers in order to better reach the goals of leaders and followers? ( Northouse, 2016, p.162). In this leadership style, the leader tries to improve the follower?s self-interests and promote growth personally and professionally. A leader uses practical strategies to encourage their followers such as having an open door policy and team building activities. In addition, a transformational leader can assisted with a follower professional vision. By being a motivator he inspired me to apply for another teaching position. His encouragement gave me strengthen to step out my comfort zone. Transformational leaders have an inspirational talent to push a follower to new heights (Northouse, 2016). Transformational leadership is truly present when the leader and the follower have great communication.

Second, a leader must have core values and collaboration to achieve shared goals. In the writer?s, career advancement planner she will infuse her core values, build professional relationships, research for mentors in business and education fields. In conclusion, the writer will strive to create a trusted and respectfully atmosphere for future team. She will confine to study and research transformational and authentic leadership.
