• Integrity (honesty, trustworthiness, professionalism)
o Yes, I believe I possess these qualities and continue to work on them throughout my career. I am honest almost to a fault, sometimes I need to remind myself to hold back because not everything needs to be said people are after all human. My professionalism outside of a leadership role might seem discourteous. Simply because I give my input and opinions even when it is not directly asked of me. I also move very quickly my motto is everything at work gets, ‘3 seconds of my time or 3 touches.’ If the task or issue requires more than this of me it is taking too long and something needs to be fix and/or changed. Of course there are exceptions to this rule but the idea remains the same.
• Job knowledge, skills and experience in your area, resulting in self-confidence
o I have work in my field since high school working my way up from a front desk receptionist to where I am now as the manager for the entire office. I have been in my role for about 10 years now and have help to grow the company from 2 professional staff, MDs, with about 8 support role employees to now 5 professional staff, 3 MDs, 1 PA, and 1 NP, with 25 support role employees.
• People-building skills including communication – resulting in motivation and teamwork.

My current staff members are very self-motivated and if they are not I give them lists of things I want accomplished and I check in with them to see where they are from time to time with my lists. • Other – I would love to figure out how hospital boards are formed and what degrees or experiences each person has. I feel like this would give me a lot of insight into how to go about being in this position.
6. What are your goals for this course?
To improve in at least one aspect of my management styles maybe in learning a new tool for motivation or sharpening my listening skills. I would also like more confidence in my skills as an effective manager. My employees cannot truly tell me if I am effective or not they have to have some form of a filter when talking to their boss.
