“Leadership Personal Stand”

“When I lay down on my bed when I thought about the God I serve and all I’m going through. As the memories rushed down through my mind, it brought tears down to my pillow; saying to myself I must rise and go and testify – because man was made to serve Jah and together we will live forever.” These insightful extract of Luciano’s serve Jah song lyrics has influenced me to ask myself, what is my purpose? My purpose in life is deeply rooted in my Christian believe and God’s two greatest commandments: Serve the one true God and love other people like thy self. The first commandment clearly defines my belief in spiritual morality and living a dignified life in accordance with God’s commandments. The love for other people is a call to serve other people beside my humble self. Therefore, I find it compelling to make a difference in other people’s lives with the gift of life through service. These core values have been the foundation to building a future career in public services as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and building relationships within the environment I find myself. In consideration of the responsibilities of becoming a CPA in 2016, my personal roles will be to provide services to the public and in accordance with the law.

As a professional, I am going to perform an essential role in society. Therefore, the assumption of being a leader is critical of my responsibilities; knowing that I should maintain the public’s confidence, and carry out the profession’s special responsibilities for self-governance. My collective effort with members of the profession is required to maintain and enhance the traditions of the profession in accordance with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants ...

...ortant role in my life. Her support to my vision is very important especially during the first 10 year of practicing as a CPA; considering the long hours at work and frequent travels. I have never thought about writing a vision statement before and thanks to Professor Tarter for the great initiative. I find it very valuable and writing this paper gives me a clearer picture of what I want to achieve and will leave the rest for history to judge. I would like to reiterate my stance that, I cannot do it alone and there is a lot of dynamics involved in this process. Therefore, the participation of all and sundry is very important to my leadership personal stand.
