Cohesion is defined as the action or fact of forming a united whole. I believe cohesion is one of the most vital elements for group success. If you have a team of military members that are constantly arguing and who are not on the same page, it will be difficult to accomplish any demanding task. One example of group cohesiveness that I have been exposed to was during my Basic Military Officer Qualification Course (BMOQ) during the summer months of 2015-2016. During BMOQ, all members of a section take turns leading the section throughout an obstacle course. I was not the leader for this situation but was one of the members of the section. In conclusion leading is not an easy task. Each situation that arises will have a different type of leadership style, as a leader you need to be able to adapt to the ever-changing situations. It is important to listen and communicate with your subordinates in order to get the most out of a team and also to function more effectively and efficiently. I have not been in the military long enough to say that I am a good leader, but over time and with all the situations that RMC and the Forces will put me through, I will be able to become a leader that I hope will succeed. I believe that if I stick to what I think will make me a good leader, listening and communication. I should be able to grow into a good role model for others and lead effectively.
