The greatest and wisest of philosophers and historians once knew of a story that is filled with mystery and curiosity. It has been said, that several centuries before present time, a community flourished in what is now the Philippines. The place was like those that you would see in films that featured the ancient times - festivals full of arts and music, peasants and farmers working with utmost passion, denizens swaying to beats with drunken revelries. Innovation and progress developed in the land without bound. Though the pre-colonial Philippines lived in the most simple of ways, it was a community of unlimited potential. The other merchants and communities several seas away heard of the the unparalleled glory of this mighty land and even thought that it would go on to form eons of existence.

And alas, in a freak twist of fate, just as the sixteenth century was about to unfold, the land was conquered by foreign tyrants – the Spaniards – that brought the land's inevitable loss of its identity. As the Philippines met its fateful demise brought by the cataclysm under foreign rule that enshrouded the land into oblivion, the country utilized all the remaining resources it had to perform its last desperate attempt to save the Philippines from its wane – the land’s mightiest treasure was the sense of nationalism - a treasure that wielded endless power, and only the wisest, smartest, most intelligent, and most courageous of them all could have deciphered the land’s key to regain its freedom. And finally, after 333 years of being foreigners in their own land, the Philippines received liberty and independence and restructured the society to continue the land’s glory and history.
