Introduction Las Vegas is located south of Nevada, USA, it is nicknamed Sin city and has the phrase “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” It’s most popular __ is Las Vegas Boulevard, also known as ‘the strip’, it is where some of the most known casinos and hotels are located. The first casino ever built in Las Vegas is the Pair-o-Dice club constructed in 1931, the first casino built on ‘the strip’ is the El Rancho Vegas, opened in 1941. The El Rancho Vegas was destroyed by a fire in 1960. The success of the hotel encouraged the idea of building more casinos/hotels on the strip which leaded to the Hotel Last Frontier being built in 1942. Ever since this event many casinos and hotels have been built on the famed strip. Visitation Rate There are 130 casinos, 109, 395 slot machines, 150,000 hotel rooms, 113 hotels in Las Vegas. Placerville California is located near Sacramento. This gold rush town was named after deposits of placer gold that was found in the river beds in the 1840’s. Being so close to where gold was first discovered in 1849 many people came flocking to this city in hopes of finding their fortune. It is located only 10 miles from the city that gold was first found in. The placer gold deposits the town got its name from were found in the river between Spanish Ravine and the town plaza. With all the miners rushing to the area Placerville soon became a much needed supply hub during the gold rush.

This paper will discuss the many unique aspects of Oakland, California. Divided into five major parts, Oakland is a very diverse city. The five major parts include: Downtown Oakland which is located in the heart of the city, East Oakland which consists of the majority of the city, West Oakland, North Oakland, and the Oakland hills where the terrain is quite different from other parts of the city. While many may perceive the population to mainly consist of African Americans and Whites, there is a significant growing population of Latinos, and Asians. The topics covered in this paper will shed light on the city of Oakland itself, and discuss the unique city that it is. I will also give my personal experience and perception on the city, after living there for 16 years of my life.

Although this may initially seem to be a positive characteristic, it is evident that this destination has the capability to be so much more than it already is. Atlantic City was originally a resort town, until 1978, when it changed into a gaming city. This popular day-trip destination had over 34 million visitors in 1998 alone. Despite this amazing statistic, along with the revenue that gambling brings in, many steps are being taken in order to further promote the expansion of this great city. The renovations and improvements being made to the Atlantic City Convention Center are already increasing the amount of money coming in. There is a great deal of other things to focus on in the Atlantic City region. In endorsing local attractions in this scenic area, and in shifting the target market of this spot, this city would change back into a resort destination. When most people think of Atlantic City, the first thing that comes to mind is the casino attractions that are available. Las Vegas is one of the interesting cities that I have ever visited in the entire world because it is a microcosm of the whole United States. Not only are there people visiting from all 50 states but people from all over the world as well, therefore, you will meet the most unique characters that you have ever met in your life. I arrived in Las Vegas October, 2009, a long time ago, but I’m sure the energy of the city has not changed. Specifically, Los Angeles was created by upper class Anglo citizens of the 20th century, who strove to materialize their imagined reality of a rural city by establishing a process where affluent citizens fled to the suburbs and left the lower class residents their more urban rundown leftovers. This created world then became the setting for resistance from various groups, such as minorities and youth, who began to undermine the Anglo infrastructure through social interaction.

Even with my short visit there I found myself lost within the Big Apple. The voices of the never-ending attractions call out and envelop you in their awe. The streets are filled with an atmosphere that is like a young child on a shopping spree in a candy store. Although your feet swelter from the continuous walking, you find yourself pressing on with the yearning to discover the 'New York Experience'.
