Lack of Parking Spaces on OU Campus
It is hard to find parking on campus, especially during rush hours. Both students and professors are encountering trouble for this crisis. As a simple example, the parking lot next to the Sarkeys building is always full. This problem is a continuous, daily hazard. As a student required to maintain a lot of class schedules and activities, I suffer from the parking problem daily and find that others encounter the same. It is true that the university is working on a new parking garage, but during the construction process, there is no alternative way to settle the crisis. The official home page of OU parking and transportation services is a source to consider for exploring the problem.
The University of Oklahoma parking page contains information and instructions for on and off campus parking facilities(http://www.ou.edu/content/parking/.html). Above all, the site exhibits a communication failure because it just suggests an alternative parking area, Lloyd Noble which is far away from the main campus. Does the administration assume that the distant but big parking facilities overall solves the parking crisis? Or do they think that Lloyd Noble bus services is a great solution to the problem? How about someone who is not familiar with the city of Nor...

...coming on game day. As a result, the parking lots must be bigger, closer to campus and more organized. Since construction limits the parking areas, something needs to be done. For example, the parking lot near the Duck Pound is big, but it fills up so quickly during rush hours. I asked some students who park there about their opinion of how hard it is to find a parking there. Most students agree that parking spaces is not enough and something needs to be done about this issue. As I am investigating this problem, I will visit the parking permit office which has statistics and more information about OU parking. In addition, parking like The Elm Avenue Parking, mad lots students pay per hour, which is not a desirable choice for many. In my opinion, this problem is worth investigating because we face it every day and everywhere, especially in the OU community.
