Kevin Durant was right up in LeBron James’ face, guarding him the best he could. Ten seconds left now as LeBron starts to drive. Kevin stays right on him and forces an off balance shot and snacthed the rebound. Five seconds left as Durant pounds the ball up the court with LeBron hot on his tail. Three seconds left now as Durant starts to pull up for a mid-range jumper. One second left and Kevin Durant is at the highest point of his jump. He smoothly releases the ball but, out of no where LeBron blocks the shot crisply from behind as the buzzer sounds. They were heading to overtime. There are many things that you can compare and contrast on LeBron James and Kevin Durant, who are arguably the two best players in the NBA.
LeBron and Kevin are similar in many ways. One of the biggest comparisons is that they play small forward. A small forward or three as some people call it, is like an inbetween player for size. The small forward is normally a lot taller than the point guard and shooting guard but, mostly smaller than a power forward or center. LeBron and Kevin have both lead the league in scoring at one time in their career. Kevin and LeBron averaged around twenty-eight to thirty points a game when they won these awards. They are also
some of the best rebounders and defenders in the league. To be a good rebounder and defender, the basketball player either has to be tall, fast, or strong. So, it would make sense that they are good at rebounding and defending because they are tall, fast, and strong. They were both picked in the first round of the NBA draft. It is really hard for a basketball player to get picked in the first round but, that just shows how good they really are. Both of the teams obviously liked the two stars be...

...d actually passed it and stole it mid-flight. He was all alone, everyone behind him, clear path to the basket. He finger rolled it out of his hands and into the hoop. Tie game with ten seconds left. LeBron James slowly dribbled up the court as the clock clicked down. He hesitated and then quickly drove by Kevin Durant. Past half court now with three seconds left. LeBron knew he only had time to hoist up a deep prayer from way outside. As he stopped, Kevin was charging from behind as he released the deep bomb. Kevin slapped the ball from behind and the buzzer sounded. They were heading to another overtime. This game was no longer a five on five matchup. It was one on one. LeBron James vs Kevin Durant. LeBron James and Kevin Durant will always be heavily compared and contrasted, long after their days in the league and while the game of basketball continues to evolve.

one of the top and one of the best players in their league. For example, Andrew

The Cleveland Cavaliers struggle to get at least three of their players to perform at the levels of Golden State. The Cleveland Cavaliers only have one player who can put up more than twenty points in the 2015-2016 season and that is Lebron James. ‘James scored 25.3 points per game last season as stated on ESPN.com.” (HalfRest) With only one player scoring over twenty points compared to Golden States’ three players with over twenty makes it obvious to people that Cleveland Cavaliers struggle against the Warriors. “Lebron gets 7.8 rebounds per game compared to Durant’s 8.2 rebounds per game.” (HalfRest) This shows an even better statistic for the Golden State Warriors and makes them look even more unbeatable. Lebron is the only well performing player Cleveland could rely on and without him they wouldn’t have gotten as far as they did in the Finals. All Golden State players on the starting lineup can perform well behind the three-point line unlike the Cleveland Cavaliers who only depend on their guards to shoot from that distance. “Before the fourth quarter even started, Curry told Thompson that he would continue to look for him. Curry, the league 's two-time reigning most valuable player, tends to produce his finest basketball in late-game situations. But he could sense that Thompson was rolling.” (Cacciola) “The Warriors produced quality shots with screens, cuts and passes. They looked for the open man. They trusted one another to make the right decisions. In basketball, a pass is the greatest form of trust.” (Cacciola) That quote makes a good point for any situation but especially basketball. In basketball, you must give your other teammates a chance and that’s exactly what the Warriors do. In a game if one person gets on fire the whole team gets on fire. Meanwhile, with Cleveland only one player carries the weight of the team and
For example, they both have won more than one championship games, and they also both help their NBA teams to 3 consecutive basketball titles. They made both won scoring titles in the NBA, and they both made at least earned a NBA Finals MVP award. And most importantly they both are Hall of Famers.
It all started this one day this kid or should I say man named Kyrie Irving. He and his teammate were stretching, why, because the biggest game of their life is happening! This game was a basketball game and they are playing The Golden State Warriors. The Golden State Warriors had just blew a 3-1 lead and this is the final game and this is it whoever wins gets a ring and everything. So Kyrie Irving is getting ready and he is really nervous, because it’s a really big game and Golden State has some of the best three point shooters ever. Also two time MVP Stephen Curry, but that don’t faze Kyrie Irving. So the game was starting and Kyrie had some butterflies in his stomach, but he is ready for the game. He has been ready for this
Whether some people like it or not, LeBron is one of the greatest to do it. He still continues today scoring major points, leading his team, and dominating the game of basketball.
It In terms of regular season success both Shaq and Duncan have proved to be lead their teams to successful postseason runs. In terms of regular season records, each have been on teams that were consistently on the top of the standings in the Western conference. However, Duncan has received two regular season NBA’s Most Valuable Player award, as opposed to O’Neil’s one. In 16 year NBA career, Duncan accolades also include being...
Jordan simply dominated the nineties and left the game as an NBA Finals winner in 1998. It was not until the year 2002 that the NBA was able to find someone to match Jordan’s dazzling acrobatic style of play. His name is Lebron James. Lebron, who plays shooting guard and small forward, stands at an athletic six-eight. James, however, never played in the NCAA.
At every level of basketball there are players that have shined on and off the court, this is true for two exceptional players like Michael Jordan and LeBron James. The debate over these two marvelous athletes and who is the better of the two, has divided sports fans since LeBron earned his first Finals Championship.
Kobe spent years trying to mimic everything about Michael Jordan including his footwork, shooting form etc. and it definitely payed off . Kobe has the 3rd most points scored of all time and he is the all time Lakers points leader. However, Kobe’s success is his but his influence is not, it belongs to Michael Jordan as it was Kobe who mimicked Jordan. The points scored by Kobe have an often unseen angle, Kobe also has the missed the most shots ever (Nba.com)). LeBron, on the other hand, is currently the youngest player to reach 20,000 points even though Kobe has played 6 more seasons than LeBron has out-rebounded, out-assisted, out-stole and out-blocked Kobe Bryant (nba.com). While doing so LeBron changed what constitutes all 5 positions, for example before LeBron, the point guard was the smallest player on the court who can dribble, but after LeBron’s arrival where he has dominated every position with his 6’8 280 pound frame and his incredible basketball IQ, the point guard has become the composer of the symphony that is an offensive possession in a game of basketball"LeBron James." Since 2011, the Eastern Conference was dominated by LeBron James-led teams. Before each season, it had been fairly simple to assume that whichever team "The King" was on, would make the NBA Finals. Sure enough, his Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers teams were the only representatives from the East in that time frame.
There are similarities and differences when it comes to these two icons childhood. Black Mamba and King James both started at an early age with being interested in basketball. They both played basketball on their high school basketball teams scoring immensely and leading their teams to victory and after high school went straight to the NBA Draft. Kobe Bryant and LeBron James both are married to two beautiful women and they also have two children. The only difference about their children is that Kobe has two girls and LeBron has two boys. Finally, their NBA career is a tremendous difference when it comes to peers. Kobe has accomplished more because he is older but LeBron has also accomplished quite a bit for his age.
The advantage that Michael Jordan have is more blocks and steals. But compare to Kobe is also a very tiny little differences. In honor and rewards, Kobe was selected 12 times to All-Defensive Team while Michael Jordan was 9 times. According to Phil Jackson, who coached both players and won the NBA championship and said “No question, Michael was a tougher, more intimidating defender. He could break through virtually any screen and shut down almost any player with his intense, laser-focused style of defense.” Putting it differently, Jordan has the ability to stop anyone scoring and could easily break free from any isolation. In this point, I believe Michael Jordan has won over Kobe Bryant in sense of offensive and
LeBron James is a good leader. He plays basketball with passion. Orwell made it clear that in “Animal Farm,” the pigs are awful leaders. They do not respect their peers and are very selfish. LeBron James always credits his teammates when he is successful. He is very humble. Unlike the pigs in Animal Farm, LeBron James embodies the characteristics of a strong leader because he/she shows great amounts of passion, celebration, and humility.
