Euthanasia also known as physician assisted suicide is a practice of ending life to relieve pain or incurable diseases with the help of a physician. Whether or not euthanasia is justified is a very serious moral issue. The practice of physician assisted suicide can be optional. As long as it is a person’s own decision, euthanasia is justified in some cases. Every person should have the right to end their life just like some other legal rights. As long as it is an individual’s own decision and the pain they are suffering is incurable, euthanasia can be justified.
The opposition might argue against euthanasia because the practice of euthanasia can go against the will of god. With major religions like Christianity, Islam and Judaism prohibiting suicide, they consider euthanasia as a sinful act. Their point of view is that the person or doctor assisting someone to death is interfering with God. If I were to agree with this then a doctor saving a dying patient is also is like interfering with God and disrupting the cycle of life. Moreover, physician assisted suicide is enacted only if the patient decides to. One cannot implement their religious views on others. Also, people against euthanasia due to their religious belief must also take into consideration that there are many people who are atheists and agnostic. People cannot argue against euthanasia or any other subject based on religious views alone. Most importantly, the government has nothing to say on one’s religion so has no right to determine their faith or even if they have any faith at all. The laws preventing euthanasia are not based on any religion belief.

Euthanasia is illegal and considered as a crime but abortion is legal and acceptable for most people although both are almost similar situations. Euthanasia is done only if the person wills to while in case of abortion the person’s life is taken even before it comes to life. Also, animal euthanasia is legal and justified even though animals cannot speak for themselves and express their desire live or not while human beings can. Animal euthanasia is considered as humane while euthanizing a human is considered a crime. Just like animal euthanasia and abortion, physician assisted suicide is justified in some cases.
