I arrived at Dallas Forth Worth International Airport feverishly waiting to get to Wichita Falls. I waited outside and instantly felt a brush of heat so I began to perspire. Five minutes later the bus had arrived. As the bus took off, the glare of the summer sun shone bright and pierced the vehicle. Luckily, the cool breeze from the air conditioner was keeping the heat level down. The driver welcomed me to Texas and said that I should get used to the temperature for a couple more months. While in conversation, he mentioned that it would be at least a two-hour drive to reach our destination. “Mamma Mia,” I said. I could not believe this dilemma. After I spent eight hours on a flight to arrive to Texas, now two additional hours will be on a bus until I could finally get a good rest.

As the tires hit the smooth concrete road, I took in what Texas had to offer on the long drive to pass the time. The first thing that came to my mind was that the vehicles drove on the right side of the road. In addition, there were hardly any trees in sight, solely roadways and slightly little grass. The long, monotonous drive forced me to close my eyes and imagine what was in store for my new lifestyle. I awoke just in time to fixate my eyes on the sign Midwestern State University that uplifted my spirits. The scenery had changed from a place of commerce to a place of living areas in a few minutes.

The design of every house as we traveled down Taft Boulevard had caught my attention. Low-level houses lined the roads on each side. The majority of houses, built with bricks or concrete had a well taken care of garden to highlight the attributes of the house. The construction was well composed to create an attractive home. Stripes is handy for purchasing little necessities needed in the future such as juices, milk, or bread. In as little as five minutes goods can be bought and arrive back home. As I strolled back home, I compared the weather to earlier. To my surprise, my surroundings still carried a heat.

Conclusively, my first impression of Colony Park did not exceed my expectations for it. I imagined green trees all around with spaces to sit down and relax outside in the shade; nevertheless, I am satisfied. The people are friendly and warm. The merging of personalities makes you discover more about them and their different cultures. Colony Park enhances the fact that different things fit perfectly into one big Jigsaw Puzzle.
