Address the issues associated with ethical problems
1(a) The study of moral commitments is how DuBrin (2004) sees the definition of “ethics”. Determining what is accepted as right and wrong, serves as the foundation for determining what is the most viable option.
Workplace ethics is a quandary that many have need to ascertain as to why difficult issues associated with it exist in the first place. There are four factors that, according to DuBrin (2004), serve as the framework for problematic workplace ethics issues. These include: (a) characteristics and traits of individuals, (b) environmental elements, (c) the impact of both individuals and the environment characteristics and elements and (d) the strength of the bond between individuals.
1. Traits of Individuals

If an opportunity awaits, an individual that exhibits bad personal traits, such as not being trustworthy or is not honest, will, in high probability, behave in an unethical sense. Many believe that that if a young child is taught about the virtues of trust and honesty, that they will adopt those characteristics as they mature and demonstrate ethical behavior throughout their adult lives.
2. Environmental Traits
Those that subscribe to the 'bad apple” theory firmly stand by the belief that negative environmental influences have a direct impact on an individual 's unethical behavior. There are organizational and societal influences all about the lure individuals to behave in an unethical manner. This argument supports the belief that criminal behavior is as a result of being in a negative environment or that individuals participate in criminal actions out of need to sustain themselves, due to a lack of job opportunities and trade skills.
3. The Bond between individuals and its

Ethical issues in the workplace can be influenced by economic gains, differing worldviews, and ineffective communications. Nursing ethics usually begins with issues experienced during practice (Butts & Rich, p. 118). An ethical dilemma that occurred, during work, at a hospital in Northwestern United States will be examined. The impact of Christian and postmodern worldviews will be considered. Ethical decision making implications will be identified.
Luke is part of a project that involves developing land recently bought by ABC company to build an adult entertainment retail store. Every organization has their own set of beliefs and culture. An organization cannot run without an effective leader making sound decisions. Ethics are moral principles based on right and wrong. According to Jones (2013), the sources of organizational ethics come from: society, professional, and individual. Society, professional, and individual are the three principal sources of ethical values and are vital to organizational effectiveness.
Many ethical dilemmas are philosophical in nature, an ethical issue can be described as a problem with no clear resolution. In order to solve the issue or dilemma a consensus between the parties involved must be reached. Human beings are confronted with numerous issues throughout his or her lifetime that would require him or her to examine the best action to take to avoid the damaging consequences. In most cases, individuals restrain his or her action to take into consideration the consequences that may lead to the right or wrong behavior. One’s ethical and moral standards are first learned at an early age from his or her culture, how he or she is raised, religious background, and social system. Scientifically, there are various ethical theories, such as the virtue theory, deontological ethics, and utilitarianism (Boylan, 2009). In today’s society many people have completely thrown out all of their workplace ethics. People are no longer kind to each other and frankly just do not care about each other any more. How is our society supposed to keep moving forward if no one is kind to each other and no longer sensitive to each other’s feelings. Our group believes that there are several factors that contribute to poor ethical analysis, decisions, and self-destructive behavior. On an organizational and industry level, some of those factors include loose ethical standards being put into place, inadequate enforcement on the part of managers and executives, having too much opportunity to act unethically, and pressure to make profit. The Facts: Kermit Vandivier works for B.F. Goodrich. His job assignment was to write the qualifying report on the four disk brakes for LTV Aerospace Corporation. LTV purchased aircraft brakes from B.F. Goodrich for the Air Force. Goodrich desperately wanted the contract because it guaranteed a commitment from the Air Force on future brake purchases for the A7D from them, even if they lost money on the initial contract.
When I think of ethics, I think of the angel on my left shoulder telling me to do the “right” thing, and the devil on my right, tempting me to join the dark side. This scenario deals with what is “right” or what is “wrong” and where my morals will lie in the end. But who is to say what is right and wrong? Ethics is such a trivial word because every person, company, and culture has a different idea of what is considered ethical or what is considered unethical. Throughout this paper, I will address my personal view on ethics, and how I believe it effects the workplace and today’s society.
