Judge Reed O’Connor’s ruling exceeded ruling went above his authority, however he used Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 to get his ruling passed. This amendment states that a restroom or any other facility made for a certain gender is for that gender and that gender only. However, Texas General Attorney Ken Paxton has spoken out that this threat is illegal federal overreach. He agrees with the Texas judge 's ruling because he feels that he is correcting this. The article then continues to go on and interview a Dallas attorney for a gay rights group. The article concluded with Paul Castillo, the attorney, explaining how high the risk is for transgender students to be harassed already and this decision only increases that.

The article proves that people in America still have very much to work on in regards to respect and equality.
