Suicide in today’s society is the second leading death in the United States. Each day there is 117 suicidal deaths. Each year there are 42,773 Americans that die from suicide, and half of them are done with firearm (asfp.org). Suicide is defined as “the act of killing yourself because you don’t want to continue living.” One question that runs through teenagers minds are ,” Should I be here or not?” The top 3 reasons for teen suicide is stress, bullying, and sexual abuse. Do you think that teen suicide could have a prevention?
Stress is something that causes strong feelings of worry and anxiety. Teenagers face many things that cause stress school, grades, and parents. Teenagers are put under a lot of pressure by their parents, because they feel like they should be a straight a student, or must live up to a certain standard for their family, or they wouldn’t fit in. As you get older and into high school you have to start figuring out what you would like to major in. Teenagers get overwhelmed when it comes to choosing what they want to be. Colleges and Universities’ look at your high school grades, ACT, and the SAT to see if you’re eligible for their college. Once teenagers have reached the max of begin stressed they take it away once and for all.
Bullying is the second leading reason of teen suicide. Teenagers experience bullying on a daily basis. Teenagers get bullied by the way they look, talk, and religion. In today’s society there are so many ways you can bully someone wither it be in person, cyber bullying, or talking about them around school. The old saying “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” is a LIE!! Words hurt more than people think. Bullies don’t know how bad it affect...

Do you think there is a prevention of teen suicide? Yes, I believe if people and bullies would open their eyes they would see the damage they are doing to America as a whole just by the number of suicidal deaths in the US. I feel like everyone should go to counseling. Teen suicide is a big hit right now in this day and time. If parents wouldn’t make their kids feel like they should be a certain standard, or bullies make fun of the way people look, or feel this world would be a better place, and we would have less suicidal deaths. If we could be a little more encouraging and Christ like and a little less self-centered we could make teenagers feel better about their outward appearance.
