In the UN conference on women, Hillary Clinton said, “If women are free from violence, their families will flourish. If women have a chance to work and earn as full and equal partners in society, their families will flourish. And when families flourish, communities and nations do as well.” As a young woman myself, I know that a woman can reach her full potential only when she feels safe and is treated with respect. Although many presidents have talked about the problems that women face, the women still encounter challenges related to the gender. Thus, with the next president, I would discuss policies concerning sexual violence, equal pay, and birth control and abortion.

...ptives resulted in a major decrease in the rates of unplanned pregnancies and abortions. Just like the young women in countries like the UK, the USA should have access to free. Consequently, the number of abortion clinics should be increased to protect women’s health and free access to birth control can further prevent abortions.
These are only a few of the many issues that women face. Although the US has made tremendous advances in gender equality, it only ranks 28th in the world. One of the reasons why the gender equality is improving at a very slow rate is because the women hold only a few numbers of seats in the congress. Since only women can understand what other women go through, it is women at higher levels that can initiate changes. If we want to improve women’s position, now is the time to ensure that gender discrimination becomes an injustice of the past.
