There In today’s society police have a very difficult role to play in trying to keep people safe? When many people think of police they think that their job is to catch the criminals, but that is not their only role. Everyday people are faced with ethical and moral decisions but when it comes to policing they face the most challenging and difficult ethical as well as moral decisions. The actions police take cannot only effect their lives but others as well tat is why they have the most challenging job and the most intricate job. So what really is the purpose of policing?

Police also have cetin policy that they need to follow in order to stay ethically correct as well as make the best choices to benefit society. There are a lot of new policy’s that have been in the making to help the police force make effort to make America great again as well as stop the violence between citizens and police officers. “Violent confrontations between police and the public sparked a national conversation examining the relationship law enforcement agencies have with the communities they serve. State lawmakers’ role in the discussion is critical as they participate on task forces and consider and enact new laws that address policing” (NCSl). Community policing is one of the policy’s that help establish a force with in the police system. Community policing is uses with the community as a partnership to help problem solving and to address public safety. “Rather than a specific set of policies, community-policing is a philosophy that may look different in every locality based on the needs of the police and the people in each jurisdiction”(NCSL). Another policy to help establish police force is the PERF (police executive research forum) that is a set of guild lines for the use of force and the use of force training.
