Is Social Business Working Out?
Let 's face it: Social media and technology are changing the way we do business. Companies use "social networking platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and internal corporate social tools to engage employees, customers, and suppliers without even getting out of their beds" (Laudon & Laudon, 2014). In fact, organizations use tools like Facebook and Twitter to focus their attention on their customers, partners, and employees by listening to their suggestions, acknowledging and implementing their ideas to expand the brand and grow their businesses. According to Y Marketing Matters, "86% of marketers stated that social media is important for their business." On the other hand, some firms are not embracing a more social, collaborative office culture because their employees prefer to use e-mail and "22 percent of social software users believe that technology is necessary for their jobs" (Laudon & Laudon, 2014). It is imperative for companies to embrace change so that they do not lose their competitive edge or fail to meet the needs of their customer base. In particular, if businesses do not adapt to today 's fast-moving environment, company leaders/management would still be dictating correspondences to their assistants which waste time because of editing their words and sending it back to them for approval. For this reason, this is not an efficient way to receive immediate feedback to make changes. Businesses have to adopt technology because it increases productivity and it has changed the way we communicate. Companies no longer use a rotary phone and get a busy signal or do face-to-face meetings because of technology. So, IT organizations have to make sure that the "content on the networks is relevant, u...

Salesforce has improved productivity because we use Chrome to get access to the platform since Talsma kept crashing. In fact, completing objectives with the old system were hard, but Salesforce allows us to finish what we started. In Salesforce, we can share information with coworkers and get feedback much quicker on how to discuss student/customer concerns. Also, Salesforce helps us to complete projects faster because we do not have to schedule meetings at a particular time or send many emails. "Salesforce reports that Chatter reduces email by 30 percent and meetings by less than 27 percent"(NUVEM, 2016). I like this because Salesforce is making it easier for us to communicate with each other as well as Bisk Education is cultivating innovation.

Essay on The Way Publishing As An Unethical Business

- The way publishing is presented in NGS reminds me of the way the Legal profession is presented on TV. Kelly, ultimately portray the entire profession as an unethical business '. The Social Responsibility Of Business Essay

- Milton Friedman presents a compelling argument in “The Social Responsibility of Business is to Increase Profits” by arguing that businesses need to focus only on increasing their profits and integrating social responsibility will only hurt them as a company. Since “only people can have responsibilities” (Friedman 52), Friedman argues that businesses as a whole do not have any type of real responsibilities because there is not a singular person for these responsibilities to fall on. Corporate executives are people as well and may feel they have social responsibilities to society but these “are the social responsibilities of individuals, not of business” (51)....   [tags: Social responsibility, Business ethics]
