Private School vs. Public School:

Is Private School Educationally Better than Public School?

The questions is: Is Private school educationally better than public schools? Unless proven in the near future, studies show that private school is not educationally better than public school. Many people assume that private school students outperformed public school students, but private schools seldom release test scores and do not necessarily use the same tests as the public schools. Different tests means different outcomes. In private schools there are no curriculum requirements. So the teachers can teach their students in whatever way they please. Also teachers do not have to be certified or licensed to teach in private schools where as if you wanted to teach in a public school you would have to go through a series of requirements to get your licenses. It is required for all public school teachers to go through these steps: get a bachelor's degree, the completion of a teacher education program, supervised teaching experience and the completion of basic writing and math skills tests. All teachers must participate in professional fieldwork, often included in education degree programs, in which they are assigned to help or teach a class under the supervision of a licensed teacher. Some would say this makes public school teachers more qualified and have a better understanding of what they are doing whereas private school teachers could just be anyone and not have a clue what they are teaching.

Some private schools are required to give a nationally standardized test to students in third, sixth, and ninth grade at least once each school year. The test must measure achievement in English, grammar, reading, spelling, and mathe...

There are many more college graduates among private school parents than among public school parents: 30 percent of religious school parents and 57 percent of parents in other private schools graduated from college, in comparison with 19 percent of public school parents.But it does not mean that private school is better it just simply means that some parents push their kids more in private school and parents who send their kids to private school care a little more about their kids education than public school parents (Cloud) (Shanker). So based on scientific studies Private school itself is not educationally better, they just have better equipment and a better, safer environment to learn in and the parents are more involved in private schools rather than in public schools.
