One of the main cause of obesity as stated by nih.gov is the lack of energy, we as human do not engage in. Having an energy balance is when energy going in and energy going out equals each other (nih.gov). Energy in is referred to the energy a person takes in such as eating. Energy going out is the energy a person uses such as breathing, or exercising. When a person 's energy in and out balance is equal their weight will most likely maintain a certain number. When a person energy going in is more than the energy going out over a certain period of time, the person is more likely to gain excess weight. When a person energy going out is more than the energy going in over a period of time, the person is going to experience weight lost.

One man filmed a documentary where he was supposed to eat McDonalds three times a day. Unfortunately during the film, he had to stop because his health started to fail. This shows that fast food is indeed not good for people’s health.
Obesity is unstoppable, but it can be prevented. A person must first know the causes to the disease, and then key factors to help lower chances of becoming obese. However as I mentioned some tips previously on prevention, those are just baby steps but there is more complex tips that could be abided by to lower chances. I believe if obesity is prevented preferably in the childhood versus being corrected after becoming obese could aid the percentages concerning obesity.
