Is higher education worth the time and money? This is a question many people start to ask as the college cost increases. However, education plays a major part in today’s society; it plays an important role in everyone’s life. It is important to get an education beyond high school. It is also important to acquire knowledge and skills because it brings a positive change in life. The education received from the college or university will be very beneficial for people. However, they have to be motivated and creative in order to make the cost worth and become successful in life.
Education received from college will be very beneficial because there is a rapidly growing demand for a higher education in the world. In the article it says, “There is more demand for college educations in the workplace” (Carlson 1). When it comes to hiring someone for a job most of the times employer looks at the degrees earned by the individual who applied for the job. Then based on the information they make the decision and figure out who qualifies for the job. In addition, a person with a college degree makes more money than a person who only has a high school diploma. Carlson discusses in his article, “ 1960, only 10 percent of Californians had college degree, and that earnings gap between degree holders and those without degrees was 35 percent. In 2010, the paper says, that earnings premium was 43 percent” (Carlson 1). As the years passed the college degree still holds a value and it is best to attend college.

To help me pay for the tuition I applied for the FAFSA, I was not able to get that much money but, it was better than nothing. My major is computer science because I love computers and I know this a really good job that has a higher paying rate.
In conclusion, education is important and it is important to obtain it to bring a positive change to your life. It does not matter how expensive the college is we should not ignore the fact that everyone should attend college to make their life better. Everyone should take the advantage of the opportunities available to them because not everyone has the opportunity to attend college. Getting higher education is extremely important because it helps people in many ways. You can become more stabilized and can take care of your family.
