Is Euthanasia inhuman? It is a subject that has been disputed more than ever since medical technology has vastly improved. What is euthanasia? Also known as assisted suicide, it is the end of a patient 's suffering by letting him or her die. This mercy killing is often referred as an easy and painless death. This could be done from the request of a dying patient or that person’s legal representative. Doing something to prevent someone’s death is known as passive or negative Euthanasia, Active or positive Euthanasia is when someone takes deliberate action to cause a death. “My intent was to carry out my duty as a doctor, to end their suffering. Unfortunately, in their cases that entailed ending of their life.(Kevorkian)” People should have the right not to suffer. It should be considered a crime to make someone live who is suffering so much, with only medication to prolong their death. Especially about taking one 's life, slippery slope arguments have long been a sign of the noble landscape, used to question the moral validity of all kinds of acts of euthanasia. The situation is not unlike that of a doomsday cult that predicts time and again the end of the world, only for followers to discover the next day that things are pretty much as they were. We need evidence that shows that horrible slope consequences are likely to occur. The mere possibility that such consequences might occur, as noted earlier, do not support the evidence. The future is a blank page, only people who live to the next day will see words appearing on the page. The legalization of euthanasia should not even come to debate. People who say that euthanasia is bad, should consider what can be done to save a terminally ill patient? Humans still do not have the medical technology to cure Alzheimer or human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), are you just going to freeze them until you find a cure for them? It takes decades or even centuries to figure out the puzzle that the so-called “God” wants humans to solve.
