College requires a lot of studying. College classes are not like high school classes. In high school, a person might be able to get away with never having to study, but in college, the classes are much more difficult and must be studied to maintain a good grade, especially if a person is planning on keeping a scholarship. So many people go to college thinking it is just going to be a big party and it is going to be so much fun, but they do not think of the amount of time spent inside of class and outside of class that they will consume studying. There is also not much time to see family. Many students get to college and miss their families. It is even harder for someone to see their family if they are at a University. Students who are at a University are often way more busy than a student who is attending a freshman college. For those people who participate in sports, college is, even more, time-consuming. A person who plays sports is not even off on the weekend because they must attend a game. For those people who play sports, they have even less time to see family and study. With less time to study a person’s grades may drop. While in college there is not much time to do anything besides study, try and keep upgrades, and attend any other required

A great deal of people would say that earning a college degree is the most essential measure if life because it is what we would call part of the “American Dream.” We think of our future as going to school, getting into college, receiving a degree, finding a job, buying a house, and raising a family with our loved one. However, for most it’s not that simple. With so many dissenting opinions, some people question if they would even benefit from the value of having a college education. Yet the real question is: Is a college education worth it?
How important is a college education? High school seniors should consider going to college because students who gain a college education often have higher lifetime earnings and a great quantity of other benefits. People with a college degree tend to make more money than those who didn’t attend college. This is because most of the jobs that have a higher earning require a college degree. People that only get their school diploma don’t make as much money as someone with a college degree. A study done suggest that people who have a college degree are more likely to get hired because they have an education compared to those who don’t. According to the United States Bureau people who achieved the current degrees earned the following median salaries. People with a doctorate degree earn $100,000 or more. With a bachelor’s degree people earn $58,000 and people with an associates earn $42,000 or more(Lucier). A High School diploma is not worth as much as a college degree. A High school diploma means less today because of the shaping of the world. People who only have a high school diploma earn only about $33,000. These numbers also depend on the type of field that you are going into. For example, people that have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or management will earn a little bit more (Lynn). It is easy to think college is not worth the cost to become better, but getting educated molds a better person, and creates happier people in the future and occasionally they become better in health (Leonhardt 25 ). Becoming a better and happier person is pleasing for everyone. Even former President Obama says “‘Education helps us be better people. It helps us be better citizens. You came to college to learn about the world and to engage with new ideas and to discover the things you're passionate about -- and maybe have a little fun’” (Procon.org). Learning and engaging in everything is a skill everyone should have, so like he said we should go to college to be able to do that. Additionally, education shows people to develop more intellectual skill and become more responsible (Pew Social and Demographic Trends). Thus said, being educated and smart is something everyone can do and college helps with that. Likewise, college can encourage someone to be more educated and happier. Over the years the economy around the world has changed. It has prospered, and it has fallen. As the economy went downhill the government began cutting funds in areas that they felt were necessary to exterminate. One of the largest areas of funding that was cut was education. Colleges began receiving less money from the government, resulting in a rapid increase of college tuition fees. Due to this, a lot of people believe that college tuition is too expensive for what you get, and not worth the money. However, most people believe that college is necessary in order to further their education, and in order for them to earn their degree. They think that this degree has the ability to help college graduates get a job and work up to a career that only someone with a college level degree is able to achieve. The truth lies in the facts, and statistics. College is the seven-letter word that all people should be thinking about. A college education is a valuable investment that everyone should strive to achieve, and is completely worth the expensive cost.
