(H) If child care facilities closed down for one day, parents wouldn 't be able to attend their jobs, and the world would panic. Why is child care necessary for working families and priced outrageously? (DD) Child care is the care of children by a baby sitter, day care, or other provider, while the child 's parents are working. (IGV) Many families suffer from having to pay for over priced child care because the government doesn’t provide a fair amount of child care subsidies, or families are uneducated about government programs existence. Low income families also have a hard time affording quality child care for their children. Low income families find it very hard to afford childcare. If child care doesn’t become more affordable then children will not receive the care they need and deserve, and families will struggle to find proper care for their children. There are subsidy programs available, however it can be abused, and therefore make it unavailable for others to use. Parents have to make the decision whether it is logical to stay home to care for their child, or work while paying for childcare for their children.
