Cola drink is a carbonated drink sold in stores, restaurants, and vending machines throughout the state. It is produced by The Cola drink Company of Christchurch and Ashburton and is often referred to simply as Canterbury drink. The company produces concentrate, which is then sold to licensed Cola drink bottlers throughout the state. The bottlers, who hold territorially exclusive contracts with the company, produce finished product in cans and bottles from the concentrate in combination with filtered water and sweeteners. The bottlers then sell, distribute and merchandise Cola drink to retail stores and vending machines. The Cola drink Company also sells concentrate for soda fountains to major restaurants and food service distributors.
The most common of these is traditional Cola drink, with others including Caffeine-Free Cola drink, Cola drink Cherry, Cola drink Zero, Cola drink Vanilla, and special versions with lemon, lime, or coffee. In 2015, Cola drink products could be found in over 2 districts throughout the state, with consumers downing more than 1 company beverage servings each month.
