When Evaluating the interview between Corey Grant and Danny Jones regarding the payroll scheme at Plush Pets, it was evident Mr. Grant used several strong interview tactics when conducting the meeting. However, there were also a few issues that surfaced which could have been adjusted midcourse, resulting in a more favorable outcome. This particular payroll scheme is categorized as a ghost employee, which is an individual on the payroll of a company who does not actually work the company. (Wells, 2014) The strength of evidence against Mr. Jones provided the investigation team its first stepping to build on, allowing for a Factual approach to used. Unfortunately, Mr. Grant failed to adjust many of his tactics, causing Mr. Jones to get disgruntled and leave before an admission or confession could be given.

...taff not five. While revealing this evidence, the interviewer, shifted to a new rationalization focused on family, and the cost for an ivy league college. Mr Jones then became less defensive, uncrossing his arms, with a slouched posture. Investigators presented the final rationalization stating “let’s face it you’re overworked, underpaid, and unappreciated, and have a family to provide for” this resulted in Mr. Jones cooperation.
Mr. Jones at 3:45 PM gave a verbal confession that he may have taken part of payroll scheme, additional information was requested, along with a written statement. However, Mr. Jones insisted that any further questioning will be done so under legal counsel. Mr. Jones was then given the opportunity to call for council, the interview ceased until his lawyer Mr. O’Reilly arrived. No written confession was given; legal authorities were contacted.
