Based on all the literatures reviewed on obesity in America and especially the Hispanic children aged 2-19 in Georgia, all the literature reviewed confirmed that obesity is a dire and potentially crippling problem and as well as a national security crisis that must be addressed. The rate of obesity has doubled among Hispanic children in the last ten years, and Hispanic teenagers are twice as likely as their white counterparts to be overweight (Arizona State University, 2015). This is an urgent problem, because obesity also leads to an increase in other chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease and cancer (Arizona State University, 2015). Maintaining an obese population is not only a socio-economic burden to the state in terms of cost, but also a psychological problems such as stigmatization and poor self-esteem to the individual. Many studies and statistics point to the same conclusion that obesity can be eliminated through school-based programs that combine the promotion of healthy dietary habits and physical activity. Among all the challenges faced by the Hispanic communities, obesity is very devastating and reduces the child 's quality of life and needs to be addressed (Ferrer, 2010). Preventing malnutrition and adequate intake of certain nutrients, such as fruits and vegetables will be helpful. The consumption of certain nutrients such as low fat and low calorie foods should implemented in the school menu and at home.
