Internet Usage and Abuses
Internet access is spreading very fast in the world and as the cost is getting more affordable, more and more people are spending time on the net. Now a day we cannot live without internet as we are forced to use internet willingly or unwillingly. If we use internet wisely it can benefit us in a lot of ways and if we use it unwisely in can have harmful effects on our lives. In this essay I will go into describe the ways that computer viruses, search engines, internet infrastructure, instant messaging, firewalls, and piracy are used and how to use these tools to benefit you without putting yourself in harm 's way.
Computer Viruses
Computer viruses are small pieces of software that rides on real programs. For example

Software piracy equals to lost wages, lost jobs, and unfair competition. It also means introducing unwanted risks into your home or business that is related with pirated software. Companies, organizations and people are struggling to fight against piracy; they must recover the data loss and downtime by the pirated software. You can help stop this illegal and harmful activity. Knowing how to spot and avoid illegal software, and reporting violations when you encounter them can have a positive impact on the fight against piracy.
Future trends
The internet has greatly changed everyday life. It has created new ways to connect with friend and family and has changed the way we do business. The internet and World Wide Web are still very young. The public web is only 25 years old.
“Microsoft has announced that the upcoming Windows Live Messenger 9.0 would support specialized features to combat messaging spam”
The future of the internet will include information sharing will become a big part of our daily life, political awareness and action will be taken into consideration, more peaceful changes will occur, internet education will spread more opportunities with less money spent on buildings and teachers, abusers will evolve into bigger ones and make life more miserable for others,
The history of the internet takes us back to the pioneering of the network and the development of capable technologies. The explosion of the internet’s popularity of the 1990’s was large and dramatic, boosting our economy and then helped to bring it into a major recession. One can only hope that the explosion becomes organized and slightly standardized in the interest of the general public. Despite all of these conjectures and speculations only time can tell the future of the largest network in the world.

The internet is a new way people can interact with one another or keep track on what is going on around the world. It is changing how people live their daily lives and is shaping a new way of society. New technology comes out every day to help people and make their lives easier. From finding a perfect couple to talking to old friends that live far away, the internet has brought society closer than It ever has been before. This is changing the outcome on how people track one another or knowing what’s going on around the world or even just around your neighborhood. The internet is making it easier to know what people are up to. These new ways of keeping in touch help society come close in times of stress or teaches people new ideas that they
The cyber world has become a most important part of our everyday lives. We spend an increasingly significant portion of our lives in it and use it to communicate with friends, acquaintances, loved ones, and business associates. We make use of our computers and Internet connectivity to look for and purchase all kinds of goods and services. We use the web and all its powerful resources to educate ourselves and to gain knowledge. We are able to look for, join and keep up with special interest groups and to discuss topics of interest to us. We research serious as well as mundane issues on line.
Software piracy is the copying and selling of copyrighted software. There are many types of software that can be pirated including operating systems, application programs, as well as internet downloads including music, software, or movies. Many people do this knowing that they are partaking in something illegal; however, some people have no clue that they are breaking the law. In some cases, a person may have inadvertently purchased pirated software. The consequences of having or distributing pirated software can be serious in some cases. Software piracy is a common practice that can be easily avoided.
Internet had opened new sources of communication; one can learn wise quotes, teaching, cooking, play games; the internet also helps students in the process of gaining an education.
The use of the Internet these days has become an integral part of every individual on the face of the earth. So before I start to talk about the advantages of the internet, first I have to say what is the internet? The internet is a global communication network of interconnected computers, that transfer data and information with each other using agreed language that is called protocol. The invention of the internet made a hug revolution in the world of computer and communications, where it made communications faster and easier than before. In 1969, the USA army made communication network that is only for military uses, but years later this network have been developed and improved by some communications company then it was called the internet or WWW, which means world wide web. Since then, it was opened for the public.
The Internet has revolutionized the computer and communications world like nothing before. The Internet enables communication and transmission of data between computers at different locations. The Internet is a computer application that connects tens of thousands of interconnected computer networks that include 1.7 million host computers around the world. The basis of connecting all these computers together is by the use of ordinary telephone wires. Users are then directly joined to other computer users at there own will for a small connection fee per month. The connection conveniently includes unlimited access to over a million web sites twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. There are many reasons why the Internet is important these reasons include: The net adapts to damage and error, data travels at 2/3 the speed of light on copper and fiber, the internet provides the same functionality to everyone, the net is the fastest growing technology ever, the net promotes freedom of speech, the net is digital, and can correct errors. Connecting to the Internet cost the taxpayer little or nothing, since each node was independent, and had to handle its own financing and its own technical requirements.
In today’s world 3 billion humans are on the internet but there are also 4 billion people that are not. In the beginning of my study on the future of the internet, I asked myself this question: is it possible that everyone could be online and globally connected? Then I asked myself how, if everyone is online, the future of the internet change the experience of everyday life? Looking back, the internet is still a relatively new phenomenon as it was first created back in the 1960’s by a computer scientist named J.C.R Licklider. He envisioned a network of computers, called the galactic network, which would allow humans to be able to share information instantly. Overtime this is how the internet developed, as many of these networks that shared all kinds of data starting popping up around the globe. In 1995- fifteen million people were connected, by the year 2000- three hundred and fifty people were connected, by 2005- over 1 billion were connected and right now there are more than 3 billion people are connected to the internet! The growth of the internet has not only been quantitative, it has gone from being unorganized and asocial to being active, alerting us to things of interest, massively social, connecting us with the world and is filled with search engines that can help us reach information of our personal choice. Social networks which connect us with worldly knowledge are also fairly new. For example Facebook was introduced in 2005 and twitter in 2006. I can’t imagine what life would be like without these networks of communication and thinking about them not being there only less than a decade ago seems like ancient times. Facebook, Twitter, Google, YouTube, Wikipedia are platforms that allow us to build social communities and...
The internet has come along way since its birth back in 1969, from its start as a government network to the everyday life; it has proven to be one of the greatest inventions ever discovered. It has helped many people with an array of task ranging from everyday government usage, and personal web pages to the ever so expanding horizons of technology still being produced today. Between the good and the bad, the internet has improved the way of life, and will continue to improve throughout time.
Days, months, and years go by and we do not notice them. Living in such a busy world, we are not always aware of the changes in our lives. Twenty years ago, if someone was told we would be able to buy groceries, pay our bills, buy stocks or even a car through the use of a computer, we might have laughed and blamed too much science fiction television for such wild accusations. However, as the next generation of children grows up, they may find it funny that people still send letters to each other through the post office. The development of the Internet has given us the ability to communicate and exchange information instantly across vast distances. The Internet has caused a huge impact in the communication field, and has made our way of living and working a lot easier, faster, and cheaper than before.
Internet history, security and technology are one of our generation technological advancement that influences and moving the world more in to a globalized system. From my own personal perspective, tried to state what the benefit of this development and what the potential negative that influence the world.
Internet as part of the history is the most important invention around the world which connects people thru phones, satellites and cables. People all over the world have access to it as it is everyday usage, and internet becomes globally real and in demand. To mention here, the usage for permits technically for travelling or getting tickets are electronically through internet, paying bills, shopping thru nets without going out (just browsing), playing games, and mostly the merit of possibly downloading music and movies in no time (just a click).
The internet has influenced, and is still influencing the way society communicates in many different ways. The rise of the internet has caused people to communicate differently in areas never dreamed of before the internet came into existence. Education has been revolutionized through the world of the “Information Super Highway”. Medicine has also seen reform as the internet improves research and communication. Individuals are starting businesses from scratch, while others are selling household items for extra cash. This internet “typhoon” sweeping the globe has become a way of life for many individuals all across the globe.
The internet is getting bigger and faster everyday, an individual can log on to the internet and buy sell or trade anything, the world wide web can bring the world into your home where anything can be looked up to learn or to amuse. Computer chips are being put in a wide range of things today, from appliances to cell phones to automobiles; an owner can now have their automobile checked for any problems while they are driving down the road via a satellite and find out if they should go in to have it repaired.
