Globalization and internationalization are a case of misinterpretation (Albatch, 2014) and this might be because the terms global and international can be exchanged as an adjective for defining a particular matter across the world; however, it is not the same case when they are used as a noun in higher education. According to Codina (2013) globalization is the interaction of citizens, companies and governments across the world, and it was believed that this process would play its role on the economic sector, however, this was not the circumstance and it ended up played also a role in the political, cultural and educational sectors. Governments, which were interested in the globalization, wanted to engage with other nations in order to exchange their products for financial gains, but it was necessary to invest first in their human capital so that they can commercialize their products. Nations needed a human capital which was capable of adapting to the trends of globalization and have not only the knowledge but also the skills for performing their jobs successfully. For example, critical thinking, intercultural and linguistic skills.
