Pollution is a problem in many countries not just the country you live in. We may take what we have for granted now, but what would happen if our planet got so bad because of the pollutants we put into the atmosphere that we couldn’t live here anymore. Even though you can't tell people what to do, pollution is terrible but unavoidable problem in a modern economy because we never know what we might be doing causing, for all we know we could be creating a cycle that is uncontrollable and the only way to stop it would be to take extra precautions.
Pollution is all around us yet we continue to ignore it. Many problems are associated with pollution and we need to stop them. Climate-adaption researcher Austin Becker at the University of California said, “Radiation from the sun passes through the atmosphere and keeps our planet warm. Greenhouse gases such as C[O.Sub.2] act like a blanket to prevent the energy from passing back out to space. So the Earth heats up. Even if we stopped all C[O.Sub.2] emission today, the Earth would continue to warm because of the C[O.Sub.2] we’ve already emitted in the last century” (qtd in “Rosenbaum”). If we can stop soon enough we could allow for our plant to last longer and warm slower.
Pollution is unavoidable with our modern age and many problems arise when we put more pollution into our atmosphere, but that doesn’t mean we can't do anything to slow the pace of global warming. Becker stated, “we can make a big difference by radically slowing the process and buying ourselves some time to adapt”(qtd in “Rosenbaum”). Just letting ourselves have some time to adapt to changes we could make will completely affect our world's future.

Rather than worry too much about emissions, we should accept the world is going to get warmer anyway and adapt to global warming by building better flood defenses and developing drought resistant crops.
Pollan even agrees that becoming friendlier to the environment may seem like a bit too much. Scientists may even show that it could even be too late to save the planet from the climate change. One NASA climate scientist, James Hansen, began warning about global warming 20 years ago. According to Hansen, the amount of carbon we are emitting is going to change the world as we know it. Scientists have seen the climate change affect the world on a grander scale as of today and we are seeing ice caps melt at both poles. The sunlight that used to reflect off of the ice back into space is now being absorbed into the soil and creating a warmer environment. This is causing global warming to occur faster than most scientists predicted. There are ways to possibly slow down the carbon footprint each person is leaving on the world. By growing a garden and even making some of your own food can lessen the carbon footprint each person

In recent years companies have been suffering a loss of legitimacy and confidence caused by a growing social awareness about their irresponsible behavior related to social injustice and damage to the environment. In this context, the case of the oil company Shell allows us to have an overview of the complexity of this type of situations. In the 90 ' Shell was involved in two major problems that has caused serious tensions between the company and its stakeholders because of the removal of the Brent Spar oil platform and problems in Nigeria. The relevant stakeholders involved in this case were consumers, investors and specially the local community that were affected with pollution caused by the company operation.

Climate change, otherwise known as global warming, has grown more apparent in recent years, with increased natural disasters, significantly warmer temperatures and unreasonably long seasons. Global warming is one of the main concerns that scientists have been researching for the past century. Scientific evidence shows that global warming is caused by human behaviors. Due to the amount of human-induced carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that have been released into the air, the earth is becoming a highly poisonous place to live on. Earth’s climate has been constantly changing ever since the Industrial Revolution, when innovations began and factories were built, which emitted mass air pollution. As more technological advances continued the years after, the amount of carbon dioxide in the air also increased. According to the UPI Space Daily News, “Global emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) - the main cause of global warming - increased by 45% between 1990 and 2010, and reached an all-time high of 33 billion tonnes in 2010” (Writers 1). The 1900s through the 2000s is the time period in which humans caused the most air pollution by creating vehicles and other industrial machinery. In the contemporary time period, human activities that contribute to climate change consist of hydraulic fracturing, rice cultivation, the increase of fossil fuel burning, and the rise of deforestation.

Pollution is affecting many individuals and life, as we know it. We need to do something about how it’s affecting our world. That’s why I urge the issue that more people should realize that pollution is an issue that needs to be prevented because of its negative consequences. Which are health affects, the total destruction of environments, and the death of animals and plants. More awareness must be brought up amongst the people and they must realize the long-term benefits it has for the world.

Corruption in the Niger delta region of Nigeria has led to abject poverty in the state. State governs in the Niger delta are making living unbearable for the indigenes of state by embezzling public funds for their own purposes. For example in the New York Amsterdam News Guthrie Gray mentioned that “Despite its new wealth, however, the money allocated to Niger delta states does not appear to be getting to most of its citizens” (Guthrie Gray). The means of lively hood in the states has been destroyed by corrupt oil companies and public officers. People in the state can no more farm and fish because their land and water has been destroyed by the oil companies in the area; however, some funds are released by oil companies and the federal government but the government of the Niger delta have refused to put the funds to good use because they are corrupt. They prefer to use the funds for their own benefits, buying houses overseas and having numerous foreign accounts. For about 35 years Oil Company in the Niger delta has refused to give to the community good infra...
