Increasing U.S. Sports Franchise Popularity
In today’s society sports have become a big part of our culture in the United States. According to Rovell (2014), “pro football has one of the most popular sports in America for at least 30 years straight.” The reason football has thrived in our culture is because we Americans are very competitive and like things big, strong, and intimidating. Football for example provides all of those aspects and delivers the same competitive spirit as soccer does in many other countries. Every country has its own culture and tradition and just because something is popular in the United States doesn’t mean the same as if it was abroad. With this in mind one of the biggest factors to overcome is that we must understand the cultural differences between our nation and theirs and create a mutually accepted sport franchise. Three important aspects to consider when understanding other cultures are traditions, history, and demographics. For U.S. sports franchise to better understand each culture it will have to research important local traditions and history of each area. Understanding traditions and history can help figure how U.S. sports franchises like football will appeal to the population. Then they will need to study the demographics which will provide essential information about the population like gender, age and location to see if the sports franchise will fit in and be accepted. Once the U.S. recognizes these cultural differences which is the hardest factor to overcome it can use this modify or create a new franchise to appeal to the majority. ...tend to be more pro-producer and anti-consumer so I believe governments should only place tariffs on products that could threaten industries that support national security.
