You can`t learn culture via schools. We know that communication is an important part in the life. You probably cannot spend one day without communication. You may communicate with yourself if there is no body to communicate with. In fact, we are in new generation that people can communicate with anybody in the world via internet. Also, the globalization started to develop more and more between people from different countries. Therefore, we should learn and acknowledge information about intercultural communication to help us in our future. During my first school period, after spending almost three months in humanities class, I can see that I changed in how I think or in how I see things. In the beginning of the class, D. Faucette started explaining our class that he was going to teach about intercultural communication. He said that it has 3 different aspects. They are sciences, social sciences, and humanities. He continued teaching us about cultural aspects. First of all, he taught us that the biggest part of culture is exist in our brain including music, art, food, language, literature, clothing, norms, values, and beliefs. He says that these aspects are related to the culture. Because of this aspects, I learned that culture shows our habits in what we believe, like, and value. Also, “you learn culture by living in the culture” D. Faucette said that. He explains that theses aspects that I mentioned above cannot be learned until you learn these in the culture where these aspects belong to. In addition, before I attended this class, I thought that culture and nationality are the same, yet D. Faucette taught me that “culture is not the same of nationality”. I learned that one can belong to a nationality with different culture. D. Faucette says that nationality is the country you belong to, and culture is the way you live. I learned that there are two contexts of culture. There is a high context culture, and low context culture. The high context culture means that every aspects of the communication are important. For example, people with high context culture cannot say no to someone they disagree with. Unlike high context culture, people with low connect culture can speak easily to everyone. Unless you have low context culture. Technically, using critical thinking helped us to understand these contexts
