The doctoral program enabled me to improve my communication and writing skills, while keeping me abreast of the current social and cultural implications of the American education system. As a matter of fact, I was able to present my studies at a few conferences, which increased my credibility and confidence in my area of work as an institutional researcher. I always believed that knowledge is power and learning can take place anywhere and all the time irrespective of your age and place. For me, it was a two way process- educational experiences leading to my professional career and then back to my school days during different periods of time so that I can learn the relevant skills to apply in my workplace again.
