Marianas Trench is not only the deepest known spot in the ocean; it is also a Vancouver-based rock band. The band consists of guitarist Matt Webb, bassist Mike Ayley, drummer Ian Casselman, and lead singer Josh Ramsay. Marianas Trench has had major success in Canada and is now moving towards the United States of America (USA). Originally, the band Marianas Trench was called Ramsay Fiction. Marianas Trench contributed a song, Alibis, to the spring 2007 soundtrack for ABC Family's sci-fi show Kyle XY. Masterpiece Theatre, their second album, was released in 2009 and quickly became a critical success after going platinum in Canada. Feeling ambitious, Marianas Trench decided to try more of a contemporary record. In 2011 they released the more plot driven Ever After, which was reprinted with bonus material in the USA in 2014. Marianas Trench's slow ascent started when the daughter of Martin Kierszenbaum, Cherrytree Records president/founder, introduced her father to the band's courageous pop sound. On April 10, 2013, Marianas Trench announced a deal with Cherrytree Records, which became their designated home in all territories outside of Canada. Masterpiece Theatre their 2009 album and Ever After their 2011 album have both topped the Top 10 of the Canadian Albums chart. The Vancouver-based band's Canadian success has transitioned into the USA. Though they might not realize it, USA pop fans are already very familiar with the work of lead singer, Josh Ramsay. West London-based Mumford & Sons is a folk/indie-rock band that favours atypical instrumentation, conjures up a unique sound, and appeals to a wide range of listeners. Emerging from what some in the media have labeled as the “West London Folk scene”, Mumford and Sons features four 20-something multi-instrumentalists and close friends: Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall, and Ted Dwayne. The English foursome joined forces in December 2007, bonded over a mutual appreciation of folk, rock, country, and bluegrass, and adopted the stage name of Mumford & Sons to give the band a familial connotation. Four years and several live performances later, Mumford & Sons achieved widespread, multi-platinum success with their unique brand of music. It is no wonder why it is just difficult to forget how great and awesome John Mayer is especially now that uprising singers are being honest about pegging their styles on him. Grammy Awards have recognized John Mayer's musicality by putting 7 wins on his belt for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in 2003, Song of the Year for Daughters in 2005, Best Pop Vocal Album for Continuum in 2007, Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for the song Say in 2009 and Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for Gravity, same year. Another rare occurrence; real songwriters and musicians playing their own music! The five-piece band is led by vocalist, Karin Barquist, and her husband Linford Detweiler, keyboardist and collaborator. The rest of the band consists of Paul Moak who played the sitar during the opening song and lead guitar during most of the others, Will Seyles on drums, and Rick Plant on bass guitar. But Barquist seems to be the key member in the band. She has all the qualities a good lead singer should have; great voice, good-looking, poised, mature and confident. She really runs the show up there, and makes it look effortless in the process.

At the Aquarium of the Pacific, many different oceanic habitats are presented. These exhibits give the public an idea of the different environments our own oceans hold, providing a hands-on learning experience in the comfort of their own city. The two habitats that interested me are the coral reef and deep ocean. Both the coral reef and deep ocean are very different from each other, having varied ways of survival for the plethora of plants and animals that call those places home.

On a Monday afternoon, A couple of friends and I drove about forty-five minutes to El Dorado to see a movie. A movie in which we didn’t know anything about. None of us had even seen the trailer. I sent my friend a link to the movies that were showing at the cinema in El Dorado, and she had chosen Deepwater Horizon solely on the fact she liked the actors that had been cast for the movie. A few of these actors included Mark Wahlberg and Kate Hudson. Deepwater Horizon, as I came to find out on the car ride there, is about the most devastating oil spill in United States history. Since this event occurred only roughly six years ago, I recognized it after my friend called it the BP oil spill. Growing up in south Arkansas, I know many people that work on oil rigs so the spill was something that came close to home. The movie portrays the events leading up to the rig explosion and the aftermath concerning the people aboard the rig.

This paper gives a broad overview of the policies that have resulted in dying of the forth-largest inland body of water. It concentrates on the policies and approaches of the international organizations towards the problem, describes examples of the projects and presents a conclusion on effectiveness of such policies.
