Agriculture is an important sector with more than 70% of the Indian population related to these profession and earns its live hood by agriculture and allied means of income. Moreover, the contribution of agriculture in growth of GDP is much more as compared to other sector. The sector faces major challenges of enhancing production in a situation of dwindling natural resources necessary for production. Farming Development issues forms an important agenda of the Government. However, the application of ICT in the Farming Development sector has been relatively slow. The main reasons for this are poor ICT infrastructure, poor ICT awareness among agency officials working in these areas and local language issues. The growing demand for agricultural products, however, also offers opportunities for producers to sustain and improve their livelihoods. Information and communication technologies (ICT) play an important role in addressing these challenges.
ICT offers an opportunity to introduce new activities, new services and applications into Farming areas or to enhance existing services. In recent years, with the advent of ICT tools, potential contribution of ICT can be seen in achieving agricultural development objectives and contributing to broader economic, social and institutional development. ICT helps in growing demand for new approaches, business models, good practices and design guidance in agriculture and rural development projects.
Lot assistance is available for the farmers with the use of ICT. The proper awareness and understanding about crops, seeds, fertilizers, marketing and other related information, are achieved through several media using ICT tools. ICT also helps in empowering the poor and rural people by providing better...

Conclusion

Through our survey our group comes out with this result that even though almost all farmers are aware of the technologies and policies made by the government , they are not ready to adapt them.
They still want to use their convetional methods . The major reason behind this is the way government executes these policies , they were not able to convince the farmers to use these technologies . They hesitates in using these technologies as they are not sure that it is really fuitful for them or not.
So, the government has to take some initiatives to make farmers understand that these technologies are beneficial for them and farmers must also
