Industrial Inventions That Changed the Course of Human History

The Industrial Revolution was a time period during the reign of Queen Victoria that began a massive and rapid change in the way things were created. Urban cities began to create goods rapidly in factories along the coast, mass production became available to the largest and most prosperous countries as their economies boomed. Farming, which was previously the main source of income, was replaced with manufacturing as citizens were forced to move to the urban areas. Inventive thinking through the reign of Victoria was at its peaks. Many new inventions were being built at the time, and still are being used today. Some of the Victorian inventions that changed human history are the steam engine, the light bulb, and the telephone.
The steam engine was one of the most noted inventions of the Industrial Revolution, since it was simply so diverse in its uses cover the years. Factories had to, at first, stay near a source of water in order to run the machinery. As soon as the steam engine was perfected by James Watt in 1769, factories could be built almost anywhere in a country (Inventions and technology in the Steam Age: World History).
Though James Watt perfected the steam engine, it was actually invented in 1650 by Thomas Savery using vacuum power (Steam Engines, Sanstrom). James Watt is often credited with the invention of the steam engine since he made such radical improvements on the design (Steam Engines, Sanstrom). According to the Inventions and Technology of the Steel Age section of the World History books,"[The steam engine]...began the steel at across a huge world

Thanks to these inventive men of the Industrial Revolution, we have these three inventions that have changed the course of human history, and our lives, forever.
