On a Saturday morning in Florida, Benjamin and George try to sneak out of their hotel room to play hockey. Benjamin and George have been living in a hotel since they came out of their moms womb as their mom being the head chef.Their mom not turning around, says "And just where do you two think you're going?" George and Benjamin stop. George is surprised, because their mom didn't even turn around. Benjamin says that, the eyes behind the head thing is creepy. Their mom tells them that she has 20/20, and then points at the back of her head and finishes saying 20/20 vision. She tells them that they have to put on their helmets and pads, Benjamin asks if they can go bungee jumping later with the helmets and pads, but she says no. George and Benjamin both wished that their lives were different; that they were allowed to do whatever they want and their mom wouldn't be so strict.
Instead they go reading."Be careful George, you need to wear your helmet while you're reading!" mocked Benjamin. George then gets a paper cut, and says "Ow! Paper cut! Kiss it mommy!" Benjamin looks at his brother in disappointment. Later, the two twins get bored and decide to go downstairs in the lobby.
In the lobby, the mischievous brothers start riding around on skateboards. Benjamin and George stop by the candy shop to say "hi" to Nancy, the poor cashier. They steal some candy and start skating around. Mr. Gordon who is the manager starts chasing the two boys around the lobby to stop them. He stops, yelling at them telling them to stop, George hits the puck and it lands in Mr. Gordon's mouth. The two boys then run off to find something else to do.

George and Benjamin get out of the time travel machine and normal Dan comes in, they hug him and tell him about the parallel universe, and he starts trying to go there. Benjamin and George then go to the lobby and hug Mr. Gordon and Nancy. Their mom comes in and they hug her too, they tell everybody the whole story about how they time traveled to a parallel universe using Dan's machine, the whole hotel was skeptical about their story and didn't worry about it.
Later that evening, In George and Benjamin's hotel room, their mom tells them if they want ice cream for dessert, They tell her that vegetables are better. "I'm never wishing for anything ever again because I just might get it"! exclaimed Benjamin. "Mom, don't ever leave us", whined George. They twin boys have learned their lesson from now on and are grateful for their life.
Later on that day their mom called for some help to come get her and their brother Bobby, when they car came he had to get in a hurst. After all that happened they finally found out what Bobby had.. it was polio what bobby had they knew things would really change after that. So the next day after Ann Fay found out that Bobby had polio she didn't know how she was gonna tell the twins. When Ann Fay told the twins they really didn’t know what polio was so of course Ann Fay had to tell them. The next day Ann Fay had to wake them up get them dressed washed their face and feed them breakfast, she was already toren all up because of what happened to her little brother. Before her daddy left he had gave her some overalls to be the man of the house and help her mom with the kids while he was gone to the war. Ann Fay knew with overalls she was gonna be doing everything now that her little brother has
On their way home from school Jenny and Willie hook up. Then on the weekend, Jenny, Johnny, Willie and his family decide to go to the lake. Willie and Jenny set the table for a picnic when Johnny is out skiing. Willies mom complains about him never being safe enough. Next it is Willie's turn to water-ski. As Willie was doing a 360° turn, he caught the tips of his skis under the water and he crashed. Willies dad was in shock, Jenny had to give Willie mouth to mouth, and save his life. The left the boat, got into the vehicle, and drove to the hospital. Willie ends up with a speech impediment, and problems walking. He ends up doing crazy things, like acid, and drinking. He talks to a counselor whom he really likes. Willie does not want to go into a Special Ed class that the school is referring him to. He feels hopeless, and even jealous of his girlfriend for her athletics. He tries to play racquetball, but his dad gets frustrated with him. That night he hears his parents arguing over him. He hears his dad say that he thinks it would have been easier if Willie had died in the accident. From there he suspects Jenny and Petey of getting together, and finds out that they are.
Lennie continued his thoughts aloud, “George gonna wish he was alone an’ not have me botherin’ him. I could just go up to them mountains and find a cave.” He continued, sadder now, “ -an’ never have no ketchup- but I won’t care. If George don’t want me... I’ll go away. I’ll go away.”
After George had turned off the house, the kids began to wish dark and gruesome insults if the house wasn’t turned back on. These insults pressured George to turn the house back on and the children praised him. After this, the kids ran into the nursery, which has changed to Hawaii, and stayed there all night. In the morning, George called Peter and Wendy to the kitchen for breakfast but there was no response. George called the kids again but no answer again. This began to worry George and he called out to Lydia. Once again there was no answer and George become even more worried. George ran into the nursery and found the three of them in Hawaii having breakfast. With this discovery, George was relieved and sat with his family for breakfast.
Crooks has his own room because he is black and can’t go into the bunkhouse. Lennie came into his room because he needed someone to talk to due to all the other guys going into town. Candy came looking for Lennie in crooks room to discuss the dream. Crooks heard the conversation and wants in on the dream as well. Curley’s wife comes in the room because she is lonely, she discovers Lennie broke Curley’s hand and said he deserved it. The guys come back from town, George discovers Lennie in crooks room, crooks tells the guys he was just kidding and no longer wants in because he feels not good enough.
It is then revealed that Lennie’s obsession with all things soft has gotten him and George in hot water. One particular incident featured Lennie stroking a woman’s dress, because he enjoyed the softness. The woman confused this for attempted rape, and when she jolted back to escape his grasp, Lennie held on, she threw a fit, which lead to Lennie and George hiding, or rather George hiding Lennie, from police officials.
George spent 12 years at the school and only saw his parents on a few occasions when he was sent home. Each time he was allowed to go home, he would get into trouble and his parents would send him right back to the school. Life was not easy for George at the school because he was labeled as an uncontrolled child. The only good thing that came from it was meeting Brother Mathias. He was someone that George admired and respected. He spent a lot of time with George and he had a big influence in his life. He spent hour after hour teaching him how to play baseball, as well as, the great love for children. George considered Brother Mathias "the greatest man he had ever known".
At 6pm on a Saturday evening, Sally and her parents were on their way to go skiing for their 20th time. The whole family was extremely excited and looking forward to this, especially since the place was somewhere they’d never been to before. As they were in the car, Sally was daydreaming about what the place would look like, and wondered if her worst fear would be there: ski lifts. Everything about this scared her. The car is out in the open, has no roof, and the ride could malfunction at any time. Since this unanswered question was on her mind now, she decided to ask her parents to see if they knew. “I’m just wondering, do either of you know if there are going to be ski lifts at the place?” Both of her parents paused in confusion but didn’t
Lennie looked timidly over to him. “George?” “Yeah, what you want?” “Where we goin’, George?” “So you forgot that awready, did you? I gotta tell you again do I?” “I forgot,” Lennie said softly. (Steinbeck 4)

When arriving at the ranch, an old man named Candy and his dog meets them. Candy then explains to them the ways of the ranch and the personalities of the other ranch hands. Soon, the boss enters the cabin to visit with his new workers, who is mad because Lennie and George are late for their first day. The boss asks a lot of questions, in which Lennie isn’t supposed to say anything, so George has to answer all of the questions. Eventually, Lennie answers one question in his own way. The boss ends up questioning them.
...reaches the clearing, he begins to gulp the water and has hallucinations that contain conversations with Aunt Clara and a rabbit. When George finally finds Lennie he reassures him that everything will be okay. At first Lennie is a bit confused, but asks George to recite their dream yet again. Before telling the story of their unique relationship, George tells Lennie to turn around and face the river. George begins to tell Lennie that their friendship is unique because they are there for another. He also tells him of their dream farm. Lennie becomes comfortable and hopeful suggesting they leave now. George agrees, raises the gun, and pulls the trigger. Shortly after, the lynch mob arrives only to find that George has already killed Lennie. In the ending moments of the novel, Carlson and Curly are confused by the special friendship that Slim and George have attained.
The next morning the two make it to the new farm later than expected and slightly annoys the owner. The owner begins to question the two men, but only Goerge answers because George told Lennie not to speak. This makes the new owner suppositious of Lennie and threatens to lower his wages, but George defends Lennie saying that Lennie isn’t smart but is a great worker. The owner hires the two men and tells them to go put their belongs down in the bunkhouse.

The boys pack their belongings up and all tell their parents that they are sleeping over one of the others house and the next day they are going to the drag races. So they meet up downtown and get ready to embark on their journey. Gordy and Chris meet up together first and Chris shows the .45 pistol that he borrowed from his old man, who was probably too drunk to notice. But while holding Gordy asks if its loaded and Chris tells him it isnt. But when he pulls the trigger it fires. They take off from behind the building where they were. They go to meet the other two guys and set off on their journey.
