The Concept of Worship and The Content of Worship
Nevertheless, African Americans have the influence of the Holy Spirit, on their side, especially when they articulate their shared personal convictions that God continues to diligently work well in every portion of their lives. In fact, the culture of love shows through in their community as they celebrate a new found freedom in Christ. “ And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose” (Romans 8:28 AMP). Always continue to trust in the Lord to bring you through whatever situation you may be facing in your life for He is able to deliver.
We cannot worship the Lord if we have not been born again, and filled with the Holy Spirit. True worship begins on the inside and is displayed outwardly as we worship the Lord. “The Holy Spirit who lives on the inside of us is the one who draws us to the true worship of glorifying the Father in Spirit and in truth. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23-24 AMP).
Aware of the mysterious presence of the living Christ, the community is empowered to live the good news in the world. Second, they share the reality of a common historical taproot, which extends deep into the nurturing center of the African soil. The community of faith can attest to the strength and sturdiness of this root by the nurturing it continues to provide. Africans in diaspora. Although the African Heritage is...

... be the one constant force in this world that stays conformed to His plan and purpose for our lives. Thus, I am grateful for that especially when a man changes things at the drop of a hat on the table.
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8 KJV). We are never to forget that if God brought us to a situation He will surely bring us out of it, however, keep one thing in mind our timing is not like God we have to wait patiently.

Many people who hear the name African Methodist Episcopal Church automatically make assumptions. These assumptions are based on the faulty premises that the name of the church denotes that the church is only meant for African-Americans or that it is filled with racist’s teachings. Neither of those assumptions is true. The Africans communities established their own churches and ordained their own preachers who could relate to the struggle of being a slave and the struggle of being a free African in a strange land that spoke freedom but their action said something different.
There are three expressions of spirituality which allows African American to cope while facing academic and social barriers (Wood & Palmer, 2015). The first expression of spirituality is resilience, and religious activities such as prayer, attending religious services, and reading scriptures help Black men to overcome challenges they face such as racism, stereotypes, and it reduces stress (Wood & Palmer, 2015). The second expression of spirituality is that it provides Black men with a “sense of purpose, direction, and focus in life” (Wood & Palmer, 2015). Spirituality informs their academic goals, while providing men with a greater level of commitment to their academic pursuits (Wood & Palmer, 2015). The third expression of spirituality was religious institutional support (Wood & Palmer, 2015). African American males received personal encouragement due to their religious connections and relationships (Wood & Palmer, 2015).
African Americans practice a various number of religions, Christianity is by far the most popular. Up to the present day religiosity has always been a coping behavior among African Americans. The majority of them found peace and hope in their spirituals during slavery. Throughout one of the most dark times in our nations history, religion has played a big roll for African Americans. They created ways of expressing African meanings and values through the form of songs and stories. Due to their enslavement they established and passed down their own practices, religious services, and religious socialization.

“We believe that the ultimate treasures on earth and in heaven are our children and our posterity.” I chose this because it is the plan that God has for us! It may seem redundant but without procreating we would not be able to understand true happiness.
...y disposition, man tends be nothing while God is not in his or her life. Since we came out of nothing in one sense, nothing sustains us from the total destruction the devil wants us to experience but the spirit and power of God step in. So, let us experience the scriptures in a deep way especially allowing the Holy Ghost to speak to us while we look at the portrait of God seen in Jesus. We must allow our self to know God on a personal level. In Ecclesiastes 12:13 says “All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God’s providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man.
It's that time again, where we're all excited about the new beginnings, new hopes and the whole new year. Like every year, you need to make a few promises to yourself to see your plans flourish. But what if we could have just one obtainable goal, do the one thing to aim to resolve to see your resolutions. In John chapter 8, Jesus made a statement that we all wish we could make. He said, “I always do those things that please the Father.” Wouldn’t it be great if we could all say that? To make it our aim as 2 Corinthians 5:9 put it well by saying “So we make it our goal to please Him”
“Human beings are made for worship. Everyone worships someone or something” (Calhoun 2005). The above statement is so true. Some people worship money, themselves, other people or pagan Gods. As for me I worship God the Almighty Father of Heaven and Earth. “True worship of God happens when we put God first in our lives” (Calhoun 2005). Worship isn’t just singing at the beginning of a church service on Sunday. Worship is a daily surrender where we put God first in everything such as our marriage, work life, friendships, family, money, and lifestyle. Worship is where we totally surrender and trust God with everything in our lives.
In todays society, people want and desire to succeed in all they do, thinking that it will bring happiness, and better things into their life. While there’s nothing wrong with holding higher positions, we must remember to always give God the credit for our successes in life.
