The main reason we all go to college is to obtain a college degree and continue with our lives doing what we love. In today’s society it is basically a necessity to have a degree or you basically cant do anything successful with your life. A degree is showing that you know the material that you majored in and are certified in that field. If you sacrificed all these years of your life and put hard work in school I believe that once you obtain a college degree in whatever you decide to major in, it should guarantee you a job in that field of study. Also when you go to college to achieve your degree it’s important that you take other classes other than just the ones that are required for what you are studying for. Going and completing your college degree should offer you a reward for your hard work. What I mean by this is that you should be able to work in whatever field and career you want without worrying about the pay. …show more content…
It only makes sense. Lets say you go to school for 8 years to get your doctorate’s degree and finally graduate, but now you are looking for a job in what you just majored in and they 're no jobs available. You just went to school for that long and put yourself in debt because that job you wanted is very “limited”. In part it’s your fault for not doing research on the career, but if thats what you saw yourself working as, you shouldn 't have to change and settle for less just because there aren 't a lot of jobs available. Having the degree should guarantee you the job for all the experience, schooling, and money you just out in to try to get to where you
Although most will be pushed to go to college some will choose to go out into the workforce immediately and that cannot be looked down upon because that is their decision and that is what they want to do, but with that in mind they must always consider college because in a lifetime it will more than likely be the wiser decision. One who takes the risk and tries to go to college might find out they want to be a biology teacher and not an astrophysicist and that is all due to college and all the experiences that it can bring along that have absolutely nothing to do with education but of broadening horizons and making one see different points of view. That is where the true value of college lies, not with the education and degree, but with the experiences, meeting new people, learning new ideals and cultures, and the ultimate tool you gain is just finding out who you are as a person. During college you learn what you like and don’t like, what makes you happy and doesn’t, you find yourself during college and that cannot simply be overlooked because of a price tag. That is why I believe everyone should consider college and overlook the price tag all to find themselves and further them along as a human being and a
College is not for everyone, although, everyone should have some form of higher education. "Should everyone go to college?" is an essay meant to inform students of the pros and cons of going to college. Owens and Sawhill state that the cost of a college degree may not be worth the money that students put into furthering their education. In their article, Owens and Sawhill use three different rhetorical appeals; egos, logos, and pathos; to persuade the readers to think consciously about attending college. Their argument was effective because it forces the readers to look at the overall college experience in different aspects.
In addition, the writer of “The Benefits of a College Degree” wrote that”One of the most important and obvious reasons to earn a college degree is to increase your earning potential”(“The Benefits”). While it is true that college is indubitably expensive, the years of learning a particular trade or skill for the future of career of these students is important and worth the cost. Also, students can apply for a variety of scholarships for different amounts of money to help pay for college and lower the amount of debt caused by schooling. Furthermore, multiple students believe that a college education is not needed for their future and that they can get good paying jobs without it. This philosophy does not apply to any good paying careers with the exception of the military and some construction jobs. The good paying jobs require at least a bachelor’s degree in many cases, except for a few that require an

We grow up and we are conditioned by our parents and society, to believe that we need a higher education in order to succeed in life. Having a college degree in today’s world is very important because more companies and businesses are requiring that anyone they hire has at least a two-year college degree, which is also known as an Associate 's degree. High school graduates and other people who have had thoughts about going to college should do so because it is getting harder for just a high school graduate to get a job, this is a result of hiring companies and businesses don’t want anyone without a college degree. Having a college degree will open more opportunities for the future. By doing so they further their lives and create a future that they want.
I never would have thought I would go back to school. Especially at my age. Not that age should be a factor in doing anything. I guess I did not have enough self-confidence in myself. It could have been the environment I grew up in. One reason I had decided to go back was to help others. Another reason I enrolled in college was to gain more knowledge. And the third reason I enrolled was to have a better future. But one day, I woke up and made a promise to myself that I would never be in an abusive relationship. Well life doesn’t always go the way we plan it to go.
I believe that students should not attend college if they are not motivated, or if they intend to pursue a career that does not require a college degree. Not all professions require a person to go to college and earn a degree. For instance, a more physically demanding job, like an electrician, requires skill rather than an actual college degree. People who intend to pursue these occupations should focus on trying to get a job right after graduating high school in order to gain experience. Many believe that a college education will ultimately lead to a higher income, but according to Bird, “there is no real evidence that the higher income of college students is due to college” (376). Since there is no clear correlation between the two, students should not attend college if the only reason they are attending is to earn a higher income. They should not risk taking out a lot of loans, and graduating with a large amount of debt. Overall, I think that college is not a good investment because not everyone needs a college degree for the career they intend to pursue, and investing in college is not worth risking being in debt after taking out large amounts of
Attending college is worth it. Students who get a college education and graduate have many more life changing opportunities than those who don 't; the debates of studying after high school has been ongoing for many years but statistics have proven that majority to all students who go to college achieve more life goals than the average high school graduate. They get more work benefits, life skills, higher paying salaries, etc. There is a downside to everything in life such as debt is to college education. However, the price students pay is so small compared to what the benefits they receive after graduating from college.
Education is one of the most important heritage that a father can give to his son. Education is the greatest inheritance a parent can leave to the son, being educated is not to acquire knowledge but more than that it be lack of ignorance. Someone once said that “I do not read for more intelligence but rather to be less ignorant”, these words have a world between them, because many people study for a degree not for gain knowledge. Education can be defined as the wealth of knowledge acquired by an individual that would be a common way to define which education, but is also the most seen college students? This is the biggest mistake of most college students, which go to colleges
