Becoming a teenager and then an adult, there are so many challenges and responsibilities. Becoming a licensed driver changed my life. From the time I was old enough to play video games, playing racing games was always my favorite. What does video games and driving in real life have to do with each other? They helped me to become a safe and more cautious individual.
The video games used a simulator type steering wheel and gas pedal. Using this helped me get an idea of how to use the wheel and pedal properly. I can honestly say that my first time behind the wheel, I wasn’t as nervous as my dad thought I would be. I just felt comfortable, like I was meant to drive.

My mom didn’t get her permit until she was forty so she only had ten years of experience but more time to help with teaching me how to drive. My grandfather still suggested I learn the basics from a driving instructor so after a phone call I had six weeks of driving school.
Learning in someone else’s car is a lot different from learning in your parents, but the instructor made me feel comfortable and had a way of letting you know if you could do better at something without making you feel like you’ll never get it and want to quit to always keep positive thoughts.
Due to my age, I had to have six months of driving training. It seemed like forever, but during that time there was a lot about driving I didn’t learn about, but playing those video games I got to give credit for helping me to feel comfortable with steering and how much pressure to apply to the accelerator.
Once I passed my driving test, which I’m grateful to have both my parents and driving school instructor teach me correctly, I now get to drive a vehicle by myself for the first time. Life as I knew will now be different. No more need to rely on anyone to take me places, but now I had to be an adult because with driving comes responsibility, not only to myself but to everyone around
