The Importance of A College Education Nowadays, it is often said that one needs a college education in order to be better prepared for the future and the real world. In other words, society claims that by obtaining this degree, one is able to live a fulfilling and prosperous life. Apart from society, the Media also plays a contributing role in the effect college has on Americans. They equally consider higher level education of equal importance and therefore, one must earn it. In the article, “ Is College Worth It? Clearly, New Data Says” by The New York Times, a statistic from the Labor Department by the Economic Policy Institute in Washington DC states that Americans with a four year degree are said to have made “98 percent more an hour on average in 2013 After majoring in finance, she was able to finally secure a job that paid her very well. Even though her debt increased, she has no problem paying it off in the future because of the recent job she landed. Thus, her story is among many others that emphasizes that hard work does pay off; with determination and perseverance, one is able to guard their own future. Another reason we should consider going to college is firmly because getting a college education demonstrates success. In Today’s economy, more and more employers are seeking candidates who have a college degree. So, therefore, it is vital that everyone obtains this higher level education.
