Memes are beginning to be everybody’s first source for information, this is not always the best way to go. Memes about Donald Trump allow everyone to form their own opinion on him as a human being and as potential president of the United States. Within a few seconds this meme conveys what type of person Donald Trump is and why you should or shouldn’t vote him to be president of the United States. To capture the audience 's attention, the illustrator of this meme used big, white bold letters and took up the whole space with a picture of Donald Trump. The target audience for this meme is mainly for anyone voting in the 2016-2017 presidential election. At the very bottom of the meme in all capital letters the illustrator of the meme wrote “THE PERFECT REPUBLICAN”. If you are a democratic or just someone voting for a different republic this is sure to catch your attention, overall, this is the illustrators goal. The illustrator of this meme chose to use a picture of Donald Trump with a sarcastic smirk on his face to assure the viewers that Donald Trump is not “The Perfect Republican”. Meme’s like the following main focus is to motivate people who are for and even against Donald Trump, therefore, everybody can get more involved with his campaign by paying more attention to his campaign and see what he’s really
The faces in this political cartoon are very exaggerated, giving a very comedic feel. Obama's chin was made longer and he has huge ears. The Pope wasn't given a neck in this cartoon, as well as a big forehead. It makes the audience laugh due to the ridiculous illustrations.
Donald Trump is the victim of many jokes because of his orange fake tan and wispy hair. Teddy was known for his glasses and for his distinct teeth. These matchless characteristics are easily identified in any political cartoon because they are extremely exaggerated to prove a point. Not only do they stand out for their psychical appearances, their personalities are quite unique as well. Both are known for their harsh, passionate temperaments towards ineffective government. Both played on populist beliefs and placed the average man against the government while realizing the potential for media influence. Roosevelt was one of the first to utilize media like newspapers and magazines in attempt to sway public opinion. Trump does the same but with modern technologies. He operates his own twitter account, often voicing his blunt opinions in a sometimes controversial way. Regardless, he gets his point across to millions in a matter of seconds. Today’s society allows for quicker spreading of news, but Roosevelt still expressed his views
This is an image by Daryl Cagle titled, Hawaii Missile Alert, where he posted on his website concerning the false alert sent out in Hawaii of a missile attack. In this cartoon, we can see two women and a child receiving an alert of an incoming alert before and after the election of Trump, and the contrast between the two reactions. The cartoon was illustrated in a hope to raise the awareness of the danger Trump’s presidency has caused. We can see the use of the pathos to do this all throughout the cartoon.
Donald J. Trump, is known to many as the orange man who wags his finger down a long table of celebrities firing them left and right every Sunday night on NBC. To others he is known as the billionaire tycoon, who graces our headlines for remarkably insensitive or oddball remarks. All (not even possibly Mr. Trump himself), at least until now, viewed him as a possible candidate for the next President of the United States. But as polls indicate, and citizens across the country (both moderate and conservative) vote in favor of Trump, he may very well be sitting in the oval office come January 20th, 2017. Whether this strikes fear in your heart, or tremendous hope is beside the matter, no one can deny the fervor and mania Trump
The tone of this cartoon is more serious than comical because yes, it is sending a serious message; it is also being comical in ways on Bill Clinton’s head being out of proportion of his body. The FBI officers are smaller than everyone else and Donald Trump is coming in with a wrecking ball and saying” I condemn this property, disgusting!!” to demolish the house and his head being abnormally large comes as comical. The tone of this illustration on the reader is telling them to beware of the Clintons because of how much they have hidden from the American people and their government. The setting of this cartoon is Hillary and Bill Clinton’s house, where all the chaos and corruption had began. There is so much going on, it is like a train wreck and you can’t help but watch. The events in this cartoon actually happened. The Clintons tried hiding it all in their little house of deceit and lies until like a house of cards it all came crashing
Terrorism has been a worldwide problem this past year causing mixed feelings, anxiety, and more awareness. Political cartoons are said to be an exaggerating and categorizing opinion of a persons’ point of views. In the drawing by Nate Beeler, Trump is unfairly prejudicing Muslims which seems to be acceptable by Adolf Hitler. The exaggeration could be understandable, but the truth underlying it could just be the obvious. The artist gives the impression of saying Donald Trump’s statements and ideas leave him to be identified with Hitler. The work is representing the idea that Trump’s discriminatory views towards all Muslims, including innocent, is no different than Hitler’s ideas pertained to the innocent Jews, making them to be in the same category. The artist can cause so many opinions, emotions, and thoughts just by adding this simple character to his work.
Trump’s use of pathos is simple and repetitive. He claims, many times, that he will return safety to America, effectively ending crime and violence. Trump constantly paints the country in a dystopian light, emphasizing how terrorism and police attacks have placed the United States in a state of crisis. Besides making claims that crime is rampant, Trump also uses anecdotes to further incite the crowd. By mentioning stories about an immigrant killing an innocent American college girl and Iranian troops capturing American sailors, Trump highlights Americans’ safety concerns both domestically and
Political cartoons are more complex than they may seem. They express compound political issues in unassuming and amusing ways. This is done to make a point about the issues and flaws that the cartoon is conveying. When in reality, most cartoons usually convey less information than mumbling or gesturing. Attached is a political cartoon about ObamaCare. This cartoon title is “’Obamacare’ or ‘Republicare’”. On the ObamaCare side is a picture of a donkey to represent the Democrats....
World War II ended in 1945, but America could not rest. “Serious discussion about reorganization began in Congress and the military department in 1944 and aroused much public interest” (Trask 1997). Because the Air Force played such a large role, discussion of separating the Air Force from the Army Air Forces (AAF) began. A proposal was created to establish one department for the United States Armed Forces, combining all the military branches under one department. “On 19 December 1945, President Truman sent a message to Congress recommending a single department of national defense with three coordinate branches – land, sea, and air.” (Trask 1997). Management of Military and foreign policies were needed during peacetime as they were during wartime. The United States need for a national defense department, and a need to prevent any future attacks like Pearl Harbor, led to President Truman signing the National Security Act of 1947.
Before he began campaigning Mr. Trump was registered as a part of the democratic party, that conveniently changed around election time. Many saw he was not politically reputable, but to others that was the game changer they were hoping for. Trump appealed to his supporting group through logos. Gender, race, and age played a major role in this election. Trump’s demographic breakdown strategy was spot on. He knew he had to target and reach out to the group who felt left out these past eight years. Donald's main support
Many people, all throughout history, have aspired to create a perfect life for themselves. However, this dream is not often very easily available. The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, is a novel about the decay of society, the blindness of love, and the pointless pursuit of the now non-existent American dream. In The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald shows the United States not in the glittering golden light that many claimed, but rather cast in a dark gloomy haze, polluted by crime, corruption, and moral decay. Fitzgerald also strikes down the notion that foolish love is harmless. Additionally, the author illustrates that the American dream is a now no-longer existent, and foolish pursuit. Many thought the roaring twenties were the height of American society, but they were actually just the beginning of a downward spiral.
Do not end up in situations that can be avoided. Lord of the Flies by William Golding, a novel set on a tropical island, explores the idea of mind control. In this story there are a group of schoolboys that get into a plane crash and are left without adults. As adolescents they decide who gets the power to be leader and out of them. Ralph is picked because of his appearance. Throughout the book a character Jack abuses his power and then because his influence on the others it leads to the death of two schoolboys. In Lord of the Flies Golding’s point is to demonstrate that people react to bad stimulus without realizing it,which results in an emotional breakdown.
The researchers present findings that indicate that a politician’s popularity in the voting booth may be related to the frequency with which the candidate is talked about on social media. The researchers goes on to discuss how further research may conclude that social media has a bigger impact on voting outcomes than traditional forms of media, and how that could potentially shape the future of voting.

From the words of United States President Barack Obama "Call your members of Congress. Write them an email. Tweet it using the hashtag #My2K." (Coffee).
