Introduction:
Corporate social responsibility has been proposed by western countries since nineteenth century, it attaches importance in recent years, and federation already become a charity where drive the enterprise to be responsible for society. Due to the fad of corporate social responsibility, some people hold that business is not supposed to shoulder any social responsibility except making profits. By the side of economic, it is correct as Friedman said, there is one and only one social responsibility, which is increasing profits( Friedman, 1962). But if consider by a side of sociology, it is not always correct. In my opinion, not only does a business responsibility is to produce profits, but also others. In this report, it will focus on analyzing whether a company should take a great amount of social responsibilities, and then some examples and references will be cited to support those points.

According to EU commission(2011), “CSR is a concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and in their interaction with their stakeholders on a voluntary basis”(EU commission, 2011). It is acknowledged that the biggest social responsibility of a company is developing its healthily and creating values. A successful company has abilities to deal with a series of problems like lack of job opportunity and employee benefits, as the same as pay tax to government as a another way of accomplish the social responsibility. Profit is simply a necessary enabler for a company to achieve its true purpose of doing something worthwhile(Handy, 1990). It has to say that there are situations of violation of business ethics, ecology of deterioration and damage of group interest while some enterprises...

The last duty of a company should implement is protect environment. Companies must decrease the times of using chemical substances as well as appeal public to love our earth,which is what Alibaba is doing. “The purpose of a business in other words, is not to make a profit, full stop. It is to make a profit so that the business can do something more or better”(Handy, 2002). Thus, profit maximization is not the only responsibility of a business, people cannot only focus on this and ignore the consequence what their action might cause to our life.
