Computers and technology are two of mostly discussed topics today. Technology has a huge impact in our world. There are advantages and disadvantages about computers and technology – it affects individuals and families, businesses, schools and the entire society. We discuss its usefulness, how it affects people and their health, and how it affects the environment. Computers are one of the fastest evolving technologies. There are so many reasons why computers are both beneficial and disadvantageous to the society.
There are many computer and technology companies. This is a big business and it is surely affecting the economy. Several inventions and discoveries have been made with the help of computer technology. It is predicted that as computers continue evolving there will be an increase in the spending for computers from business people and customers in the U.S (Hammersly, 2012). How will computers affect people and environment in the future? We have seen a lot of changes already. What is next?
Introduction
Computers technology has a huge impact throughout our social world and economy. A computer is an electronic device that is used for storing and processing data for purposes of work (Forester, 1988). It helps operate work automatically for people. Multiple modifications and new build- INS in this technology have affected our environment and the way people use it today (Schoenherr). Computers started from the simplest technology to models that could perform increasingly complex tasks. It first started with the vacuum tube, then the transistor, next was the IC computer, the microprocessor, and overtime came the present and beyond which included the Apple Macintosh (Johnson, 2003).

Especially in our generation, people spend too much time sitting in front of computers. It may seem to be harmless to the environment but it is harmful. While in front of the computer, there is a humungous waste of energy in the air-conditioning, the heating, the power for lights, etc. ("Environmental Effect of Computers ").
Conclusion
Computer technology is continually evolving. It can perform very complex tasks in a shorter amount of time. It is helping humans to improve the quality of life, making it faster and more efficient. This has changed the way we live and we interact with each other. It affects physical, social and economic aspects of our lives. I just hope we use it to better our world and ourselves.
