Every American has set high goals for themselves, leaving lower paying jobs available. Immigrants are just trying to survive, and are willing to take any job to accomplish just that. Americans have become spoiled, they get everything handed to them, they take things for granted, they forget about the ones that provide for them. Theodore Roosevelt once said “in the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. To defend one’s home and fields and ancestral graves against invasion seems a right. But to claim unique possession – to compound the fact of settlement with the aspect of a landscape into an abstract of eternal and immutable ownership – is a joke.” However, nothing is free, and endless lives were taken for this cause. Because of the time period, there was little to no justice served for the attacks the pilgrims had on the “Native Americans” as they are so called. No justice will ever be found for the people who were brutally murdered for their land. What is not understood is that the actions of the people that took over a land that was not theirs to begin with had no punishment. In history books, Americans would not be taught that they were the enemy; no one wants to grow up to know their country grew on soil that was stolen rather than given. Technicalities would show that land was always stolen from someone else, maybe a lower power. Maybe a smarter caveman decided to take more just because of greed. Greed is evil,
