Ichtyosis Vulgaris (or also called fish scale disease) is a skin disorder that is passed down the family line that leads to dry, scaly skin. Ichtyosis Vulgaris is one type of skin disorder that is very common. You are born with this skin disease which it is inherited in an autosomal dominant pattern. This type of skin disease is not life threating at all but there really isn’t a way to cure it at you just have to go on living with it. They symptoms of Ichtyosis Vulgaris are: dry skin, scaly skin, mild itching of the skin, and maybe some skin thickening. With time the dry skin can actually begin to bunch up together and start to create patches on your skin covering large areas of your body such as the back, arms, and legs. Unless spotted at a young age most cases of Ichtyosis Vulgaris go undiagnosed due people thinking that it is only “dry skin”

In 1831, Asian carp were brought over as a delicacy. Asian carp are originally from Asia (Barbara A. Somervill 13). They were imported by catfish farmers in 1963 for federal research on controlling aquatic vegetation. In 1966, the first Asian carp had escaped into Arkansas waters. By 1970, grass carp we're being stocked in Arkansas waters to help with over vegetation. In 1972, big head carp were brought in the United States by a fish farmer in Arkansas to improve his water quality and fish production. In 1973, silver carp were introduced for phytoplankton control (Watershed Council 1). Over time, they were brought over for different reasons and made their way into many of the United States waters. The federal government had transported the invasive species to help the waters but, they did not realize the bad effects that the fish would have on the future environment. Symptoms of elephantiasis are enlargement and swelling of a part of the body due to the blockage of the lymphatic nodes. The lymphatic system is not able to take out the extra fluid of the body which causes an accumulation of body fluid. The arms and legs are the most affected areas in the body. It can swell to more than three times of its normal shape. Affected areas will have malformed shapes; skin and tissue will become thick and appear to look like an elephant’s leg. Harlequin Ichthyosis is a rare genetic mutation that affects the thickness of the skin. In order for a child to inherit this mutation, both of their parents must be carriers of the autosomal recessive gene. This gene will affect chromosome 2q35 by the deletion mutation. This mutation causes a changes in the ABCA12 gene. This gene produces the ABCA12 protein, which carries lipids to the epidermis of the skin. Without the ABC12 protein, the epidermis will not get the lipids needed to hold the skin together, which in result will cause water lose in the body. Not only is the ABCA12 protein used in the transportation of lipids, it is also a key component in the tissue of many major organs. For example the lungs, liver, and the stomach.

Even though skin grafting does have it’s benefits, there are a few risks of having skin grafting anesthesia is having a reaction to the medicine and troubles with breathing. There are also different risks that can occur most commonly after the surgery such as bleeding, infection, scarring, skin discoloration, an uneven skin surface, reduced or lost skin sensation, loss of grafted skin (the graft not being able to heal or graft healing slowly) and chronic pain (rarely). Most skin grafts are successful, but some do not heal well, depending on the damage, and will require a second graft (not free of charge).
Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that affects 125 million people world wide according to the World Psoriasis Day consortium. The origin of psoriasis is unknown, but many doctors and researches believe that genetics, along with environmental factors, trigger a hyperactive reaction of the immune system that leads to the relatively harmless, yet uncomfortable skin disease. The response of the immune system induces skin cells to multiply and mature rapidly, causing the skin cells to accumulate on top of each other and as a result, the skin becomes red, scaly, itchy, and forms thick patches on the skin. Despite that this disease is the most frequent auto-immune disease in the world, there is no cure for it. Not only is there no cure for psoriasis, but this disease can lead to other problems depending on the severeness of the disorder for example: psoriatic arthritis. This condition of the skin is very easy to diagnose and is usually done with the doctor just looking at the patients affected area. The doctor may take a piece of the sore and send it to a lab to get a clearer diagnosis of impetigo.. impetigo ia contagious and can be spread by sharing towels and close contact. It also can be spread by scratching. The symptoms of impetigo are small red bumps around the mouth and nose area. Blisters and crusty sores are also symptoms. The treatment for impetigo is antibiotics. In a mild case of impetigo antibiotic ointment or cream is prescribed. In severe cases the doctor prescribes antibiotic pills to the patient.
