I will never forget my first car accident. I had only had my license for seven months. My mom along with my friends already did not think I was a good driver, and this accident proved their case. Now looking back I could have prevented my first car accident by not driving while tired, taking my sister to the game, and not talking on the phone. The combination of these things with the inexperience as a driver caused the accident. It was Tuesday February 2, 2016. I went to school as usual and stayed after school for math tutoring, because I needed help with my homework on Math Lab. Instead of going home like I always do I decided to go to the Beauty Supply store, because the next day I went to work, and I could not wear my regular nose piercing. I had to have a clear one in. I went to the Angie’s Beauty Supply store on South Cobb Drive. I got the clear nose piercing and headed home. I got home around five o’clock which was later than usual. I was tired. Before I get out the car my sister Zahria ran to my car and said, “Can you take me to the McEachern Basketball game?” I got so angry because I hate when she asks me to take her somewhere. I said, “No”. She got mad and stormed back in the house. Meanwhile I was still in the car and my best friend called me. I had not spoken to my best friend Jamir in forever because she was busy with school and I was busy …show more content…
I have not taken my sister anywhere that I did not feel like taking her too. Lastly I had not talked on the phone with headphones. I will never forget this accident not because it was my first accident but because it taught me a valuable lesson. That lesson was what I should not to do while driving and the accident taught me to be more aware of my surroundings. I can honestly say this accident made me a better driver and I am forever grateful of that. Sometimes it takes for things to happen in order for people to get it
“Sweetie, we have to hurry and get to the airport before we miss our flight. You need to get in the car now,” my mom told me with a very mad look on her face. The reason she was mad at me was because she had to keep telling me to get in the car. My mom and I finally jumped in the car along with my older brother. We were going all the way to Texas to visit my grandparents for a few days.
“You need surgery.” Just a few weeks before a national basketball tournament, these words would change my life forever. Basketball is my true passion that is a part of who I am. Unfortunately, I experienced failure at meeting my athletic aspirations, due to an injury. Although my particular injury was out of my control, I constantly felt ashamed that I could not completely fulfill my athletic goals as I had hoped. I felt I had let everyone down who had been there for me and supported me. This injury has also shaped me and changed my perspective on how I see and appreciate certain things.
Then when my mom was standing there my sister wandered off by herself. My mom said, “Valerie what other ride do you want to go on?” Valerie didn’t reply back so my mom yelled, “VALERIE WHAT OTHER RIDE DO YOU WANT TO GO ON?” Valerie still didn’t reply back. So when my mom turned around she wasn’t there. My mom yelled “Valerie where are you.” When I got off of the
Getting my first speeding ticket taught me a few life lessons, I am not invincible and that I need to slow down and enjoy the drive. Speeding did one thing for me, it transported me places quickly. I also put my life in danger speeding and could've easily hurt a person. I regret speeding everywhere, but I am thrilled that I had this reality check. This opportunity has given me a chance to change my ways so that I can keep a clean record as I become an adult.
The day you get your first car is like christmas morning for a kid. You are so ecstatic that you almost can not control yourself. But when you do get a car, you know, freedom is at your fingertips. This memory start in the middle of May. I have had my permit for a few months then, so I could drive. My dad said he wanted to help me get a car if I paid for gas and insurance. That is when I started searching Craigslist. I knew I wanted something with four wheel drive, and something that got decent gas mileage. I really liked old Ford Broncos at the time, but they got horrible gas milage, so that was off the table. My next choice was a 1985 toyota 4runner. They had great gas mileage, and good four wheel drive. I happened to be at my aunt and uncle’s house when my uncle said
Accidents can happen at any given time. You could be one of the best drivers there are and still get in to a car accident due to other reckless drivers. So here are some helpful tips on how to avoid getting into car accidents that injure yourself and
When I was about seven years old, someone pulled right out in front of my parents. We missed hitting them. When I was nine, we almost backed into another car coming down the road. The lady was on her cell phone, not paying any attention to the road. When I was 13, we finally did hit someone. It was my brother’s fault. My brother should have been more focused. These are all things that happen to everyone at one point in their lives. It’s inevitable. I think if people were to pay more attention to the road, crashes would happen less often. Driving can be dangerous, and people can be even more dangerous if not focusing on the task at hand.
My mother always told me, “ Make sure you always keep plenty of distance between you and the car in front of you.” Thinking back to her advice, I should have taken it more to heart. You never know what can happen and who you can impact. Not only could I have killed myself, but I could have injured others. Plus, I totaled my car from the accident so I spent the majority of my summer working to earn money to pay for the fine and my insurance. The one thing I learned, is that sometimes the most important life lessons are the ones we end up learning the hard
About a month after I had got my license and winter had began to take its full affect, I was put in a difficult position. I could either drive to my friends house which was within a few miles, or stay home due to the recent coating of sleet on the roads. Of course, my mom prompted me to stay home. To me that was simply not an option
Awoken by his alarm clock, 12-year-old Jimmy Clark got up on Friday morning and began his day with breakfast.

Disappointment, disbelief and fear filled my mind as I lye on my side, sandwiched between the cold, soft dirt and the hot, slick metal of the car. The weight of the car pressed down on the lower half of my body with monster force. It did not hurt, my body was numb. All I could feel was the car hood's mass stamping my body father and farther into the ground. My lungs felt pinched shut and air would neither enter nor escape them. My mind was buzzing. What had just happened? In the distance, on that cursed road, I saw cars driving by completely unaware of what happened, how I felt. I tried to yell but my voice was unheard. All I could do was wait. Wait for someone to help me or wait to die.
Yeah that was my car, I was a brand new driver casually running into everything I seen. It was about 3 months into having my license. I was on my way to volunteer for parent teacher conference and I was extremely tired. There was a Dunkin Donuts right next to my school, so I decided to make a pit stop. Waiting in line, made me very restless and I was ready to leave and go to where I needed to be. As cars in front of me started to ease up I followed slightly behind. When I finally got to the front window to get my Caramel latte , I realized my car was too far over to the right for me to reach. I twisted my wheel all the way to the left to try to and get a little closer to receiving my drink. When I finally got my drink “ hurry up” the worker said to me. Mistakenly letting my foot hit the gas and I flew into the yellow pole my Brand new 2016 Volkswagen Beetle was dented up and yellow. “What am I going to tell my parents! This is a brand new car!” I was ready to run and hide and never tell them, but the car meant responsibility
The pick-up bounced jarringly down the old dirt road. The driver sat up straight in the front seat, checking over her shoulder every few seconds to make sure that her cargo hadn't fallen out.
Last year I got involved in a massive car accident. It was the most terrified part of life. It was the moment. I will never forget in my whole life. Before, I never realized how people really feel when a car accident happens. But,after this car accident I know what really it felt like. It was the moment. My mind was totally feared of driving. I was crushed by the hot metal and cold dirt of car. I was not feeling my arm,my body was numbed. It was felt like my lower body pressed down with monster force. All I could feel was the noise of car accident ringing in my ear.I was barely able to move my body. I was kept thinking. What my parents going to think about this? Where is my friend John? I looked through the window and saw the cars passing by
