When I was younger a teacher of mine, Ms. Macy, would constantly tell us that friends are forever, no matter what. I took her words literally and thought that when you made a friend, they would be in your life until the day you died. Friends are very important to me. My friends are like my family. Could you imagine how upset I was the day my best friend, Stephanie stopped talking to me over a stupid misunderstanding? Steph and I have been friends since we were in diapers. She even lived right across the street from me. We would do everything together. We were inseparable. I never thought in a million years, that our friendship would come to an end.
Walking into my house on that warm, sunny Friday after school, I quickly changed out of my scratchy, stiff school uniform and into something more comfortable. I grabbed a snack then ran out the door to meet Steph. Minutes ago, I saw her grandmother’s brown van pull up and Steph got out and ran right over to me. We made plans to hangout at her house for the day because she was grounded. As I crossed my street and approached Steph’s house, I could hear her creaky, front door open. As she stepped outside, I asked her, “Hey, what do you want to do today?” “I feel like baking. Let’s make some cookies.” she replied. We walked into her dark, musky garage to her grandmother’s collection of recipes. After some debate, we decided to pick the sugar cookie recipe. We then went inside her house and started to make the cookies. Midway through mixing the ingredients, Steph asked “Can you get the sugar in the pantry for me?” I walked in, got the sugar, and gave it to her so she could finish mixing the batter. As the cookies were baking, we couldn’t stop remarking on how good they smelled. When t...

...it for that long. It was near the end of August when I finally got a text message saying, “Leave me alone, I don’t want to talk to you anymore.” I responded, “Why? What did I do?” “I hate you. Just leave me alone and stop texting me.” was her reply. I never texted her back and I didn’t want to after this. I was angry and hurt that she didn’t want to talk to me anymore. That day that she got in trouble was the last time I talked.
Stephanie still lives across the street from me. I see her from time to time. We are no longer good friends, but if we see each other on the street, we always stop to say “hi” or ask “how are you doing?”. It hurt me greatly to lose her as a friend. When Steph stopped talking to me, I realized that Ms. Macy was wrong. Friends are not forever. They come and go in your life. They can be your best friend today and just an acquaintance tomorrow.

Teacher Is Not A Teacher Essay

- For some, “Teacher” is simply a title to describe the person who teaches vocabulary words, a math formula, or who takes students outside to play on the playground.
