Part 1: What I know about becoming a Pediatrician
Pediatrics is the specialty of medicine that contains infants, children, and adolescents. Most Pediatricians deal with different diseases that children get in different ages. Pediatricians also teach parents about safety and nutrition for their kids. To become a Pediatrician, I need more than fourteen years of education. These fourteen years start right after high school. In my four years of college, I need to major in biology or pre-med that would help me to become more successful in my courses. After four years of university, I need to take a test called Medial College Admission test (MCAT). This test helps me to get into medical school. After taking the test, I need to attend another four years of medical school. During my four years of medical school, I will learn the basics about medicine. After four years of medical classes, I have to choose one of the medical branches. I will choose pediatrics. After having two or three years of special study of Pediatrics, I would advance to the next level of medical school, which is residency. Residency takes about three years of working in different hospitals for minimum wage. After fourteen years, I will graduate from medical school.
Part 2: What I want to find out

Every little kid has high expectations for what they want to be when they grow up. Some dream of becoming president of the United States of America, or becoming an Astronaut, a lot of little kid ’s say that they want to be a Doctor. What kids do not understand is that there are many types of doctors, like an orthopedic surgeon, who works with feet, or an oral surgeon, who works with the mouth. Another similarity to a doctor is a nurse practitioner.
The road to gaining admission to medical school and becoming a physician is long, difficult, and intensely competitive. Once admitted, however, medical students spend the first two years primarily in laboratories and classrooms learning basic medical sciences. They also learn how to take medical histories, perform complete physical examinations, and recognize symptoms of diseases. During their third and fourth years, the medical students work under supervision at teaching hospitals and clinics. Following medical school, new physicians must complete a year of internship that emphasizes either general medical practice or one specific specialty and provides clinical experience in various hospital services. Physicians then continue in residency training, which lasts an additional three to six years, depending on the specialty. Immediately after residency, they are eligible to take an examination to earn board certification in their chosen specialty. Most traditional specialties include the following: anesthesiologist, cardiologist, dermatologist, family practitioner, gastroenterologist, internist, neurologist, oncologist, pathologist, psychiatrist, pulmonologist, and urologist

Although more than ten years can pass prior to the moment one first calls oneself a pediatrician, the hard work and dedication pays off when one saves the first life a helpless child. Throughout the long process of applying for school after school, obtaining scholarship after scholarship, and proving one’s medical skill with each and every exam, one must feel true bliss when grasping the newly received medical license in one’s hands. A career in pediatrics will allow one to save the lives of young people who haven’t yet truly lived.
After high school people go to college. College is the step where they will figure out their life-long job. I’ve always have wanted to go into the medical field, but didn’t know what I wanted to do in it. I decided I would like to to be a pediatric oncologist. A pediatric oncologist is a physician that specializes in pediatrics. Pediatric oncologists receive further training in medical oncology. Pediatric oncologists help kids who are fighting cancer.
“There are only two things a child will share willingly: communicable diseases and his mother's age”-anonymous. Imagine a world without pediatricians. Who would have the expertise to care for your child? From birth to age 18 Pediatricians have what it takes to ensure your child goes from a caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly. The career of a pediatrician is determination. You must be determined to make your patient feel better no matter what. In my research I will be discussing the career of a pediatrician, their influence on society and more.
A career in nursing is extremely important in today's society. Without nurses to assist doctors in the care of patients, the quality of patient care may not be the same. Nurses do not just serve a great role in our community, but they also are just as needed as a police officer patrolling the streets or a teacher in the classroom. Although it may seem very easy to become a nurse, one's desire must be very strong in order to to actually pursue a career in nursing. Pediatric nursing is not just a profession that one would desire, but is a profession that is widely needed.

The medical world today is always looking for more nurses in any medical field. A pediatric nurse is a registered nurse who helps with newborns, babies, and young children with physical exams, keeping shots up to date, medical records and check ups. For those who want to become a pediatric nurse they will go to college for several years to get his or her associate or bachelor degree. He or she can work in all different settings, jobs, and have different positions in their work setting.
What is a pediatrician? Pediatricians are doctors who specialize and focus in caring for babies to young adults (Career Cruising). They deal with childhood diseases and the care of infants with health and sickness (Elberts). The typical upper age limit of patients is from age twelve to age twenty-one (NetMed Pediatrics). They have to treat their patients as if he or she were going to change the world. Pediatricians complete many tasks in a day’s time. They perform physical exams and order tests that will diagnose diseases and injuries that have occurred. They advise surgery and medications and may also help patients through puberty and family problems (Career Cruising). It is their responsibility to make sure the patients are not only healthy, but also safe and happy. Some pediatricians communicate with social workers, family members, and health care workers to understand the entire situation as best as they can (Career Cruising). If the patient seems to have more personal problems, pediatricians have the opportunity to send them to other doctors like a psychiatrist for treatment. Others work as advocates by educating the community about car safety and the benefits from school breakfast (Career Cruising).
Another good aspect of this job is that they only focus on the health of children, rather than all of the age groups. An adult and a child are so different, they are nearly two different species. If a child is brought to a doctor who specializes in all age groups, the child would not be getting the same kind of attention that he or she would be getting, compared to that from a doctor who specializes only in children. Doctors that specialize in all age groups are used to make quick, rough, and fundamental actions needed for the healing of the patient. One does not simply treat a child the same way an adult would be treated.
